Attendance Matters at MLK!

Attendance Matters!
Regular school attendance is essential for your child’s academic growth and success. Every day of learning builds skills, confidence, and connections with teachers and classmates. We encourage families to make school attendance a priority and to plan appointments or trips outside of school hours whenever possible. By working together, we ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

Student Discipline

The Importance of Student Discipline
Discipline is a vital part of helping students develop responsibility, respect, and self-control—skills that are essential both in and out of the classroom. Consistent expectations and guidance support a safe and positive learning environment, allowing all students to focus on learning and personal growth. When families and schools work together to reinforce these values, children are better prepared to make thoughtful decisions, solve problems effectively, and succeed academically and socially.

Bus Safety

🚌 Bus Safety Reminder – Sit, Stay, Arrive Safely! 🚌

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety of our students on the bus is our top priority. To help ensure every child arrives safely to and from school, please review these important rules:

✅ Stay Seated: Students must remain seated at all times while the bus is moving. Standing or moving around can cause accidents.
✅ Keep Hands and Head Inside: Avoid putting hands, arms, or heads out of windows.
✅ Follow the Driver’s Instructions: Bus drivers are trained to keep everyone safe. Listening carefully helps prevent injuries.
✅ Use Quiet Voices: Calm behavior helps the driver focus and keeps the bus safe for all.

Together, we can make every bus ride safe and smooth!

Keeping 'The King Safe!

Keeping Our School Safe
The safety and well-being of every student is our top priority. Our school implements comprehensive safety measures, including secure entrances, clear guidelines for students and staff, and regular safety drills such as fire, lockdown, and evacuation practices. These drills prepare students and staff to respond calmly and effectively in any situation. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, we ensure that students can focus on learning, building friendships, and growing with confidence. We appreciate parents’ partnership in reinforcing safety habits at home and helping us maintain a secure school community.
