Good Morning,

We know the importance of having friendships, it gives us a sense of belonging. This week students learned all about how to be a good friend by reading stories such as Matthew and Tilly, Working and Playing Together and How do friends get Along Together.

I encourage our parents and guardians to find some time to talk to your children about their day, how they felt during their school day, did they play with a friend?

Parent Teacher Conferences are upcoming on November 19 and 20th. Families should expect to receive a letter via email from your child's teacher the week of November 4th for more information.

On Tuesday, 11/19, there will be a half day for all WECC students for afternoon conferences. Tuesday's conferences are virtual via Google Meet from 11:45-2:30 and Wednesday night's conferences are in person from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Playground:

A ribbon cutting celebration for the school and playground will be held on Friday, November 8th at 9:30 a.m. We will look forward to families joining us for this event. A flyer will be sent home later this week with more information.

Safety:

We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers..

Tuition:

The Lockbox for dropping off tuition is now at door #7. No CASH should be placed into this box. Please do not use the one at the front of the building where the administration office is. Remember to put your child's name in the memo section of your check.

Questions about tuition or registration, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school office at 781-335-0191. If you leave a message, we will return your call as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful weekend!

How to Teach Your Child to Appropriately get your Attention

About this Series

The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.

Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.

I'm a Super Reader

Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books

One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.

We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.

Help our students reach their goal!
