The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission: “The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”

Ms. Rial’s 1st grade class is hard at work in math! Students are diving into “teen numbers” and strengthening their place value skills by separating numbers into the tens place and the ones place.

BSMS has launched a brand-new Garden Club! Each month, a 4-H representative will visit to guide our students as they design raised beds and grow a thriving vegetable garden.

We can’t wait to watch this project blossom and grow, what a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our students!

At Aberdeen Elementary School (AES), we believe that strong family and community partnerships are the foundation for student success. Events like Family and Community Engagement highlight our commitment to building meaningful connections between home and school. From engaging presentations focused on academic progress to warm thank-you celebrations complete with refreshments and themed decorations, AES fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment where families feel valued and involved. With the motto "All Paws on the Ground – The Trail to Academic Success Starts Here," our school community works hand in hand to ensure every child thrives, both academically and personally.

This week, Ms. Nichols’ class reminded us all of the power of kindness. They surprised teachers with an inspirational tumbler and a heartfelt thank-you note tucked inside.

Your commitment to showing up, learning, and giving your best every day makes Bulldawg Country stronger. Keep up the great work, every day counts!

Every day counts. Students who are in school, on time, learn more, feel connected, and stay on track for the year. Families, set the routine now: early bedtime, alarms set, backpacks packed, and rides arranged. Please schedule appointments after school when possible, and call the office if you hit a snag so we can help. Let’s make showing up our standard—every child, every day.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, let’s make “in school, on time, every day” the standard.

• It’s flu shot time. Walgreens will administer flu shots on September 29, 2025. A waiver must be signed. Please call your child's school for more information.
• Vaping fact. The nicotine in vapes is a toxic and highly addictive chemical that can harm a developing brain until about age 25. This can lead to problems with attention, learning, mood, and impulse control. Some vape products contain high levels of nicotine, with some pods containing as much as a pack of 20 cigarettes.

Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. It’s a simple way to spark conversations, plant dreams, and keep students motivated toward their future goals. Let’s show them that the road to college starts right here in Bulldawg Country!

Our students now have 24/7 access to Paper Tutoring, a free, unlimited online tutoring platform provided through our district. Paper connects students with qualified, trained tutors who offer one-on-one live help in any subject, anytime, anywhere. Students can also upload writing assignments (like essays or lab reports) and receive detailed feedback from tutors.

How Parents & Students Can Access It:

1. Visit the district’s Parent and Community Dashboard page and click the Paper Tutoring link.

2. Sign in using your student’s district credentials (Students can obtain login info from teacher using Clever).

3. Choose your subject, click Live Help, and you're connected within seconds.

4. For writing feedback, look for the Upload an Essay option.

This resource is always available and always free, with no appointments needed. Encourage your student to take advantage of it, whether they need homework help, extra practice, or writing support.
