SOAR Day & Graduation Weekend!
BWMS Parents and Community,
Please join me in celebrating the Big Walnut Class of 2026 as this weekend they will be receive their diploma at the Big Walnut High School Stadium. Best wishes to our students and all of your future endeavors. If you did not yet see any pictures of the Eagles Last Flight, be sure to search around on some social media and take a look. This is the culmination of all of the hard work from the greater Big Walnut Community. Congrats to us all.

- SOAR Day was Friday 5/15/26. Ask your student how the day went.
- The luggage check for the 8th grade DC Trip is Sunday 5/17/26 from 4:00-5:00 at BWMS. Also, please note that all medications need to be brought at this time.
- 8th grade trips for Ohio and DC are on 5/18/26 through 5/21/26. As a reminder, all school fees need to be paid in order to participate in the trips.
- Incoming 6th grade students will visit BWMS on Tuesday 5/19/26.
- The last day for students is on Thursday 5/21/26. We will follow a two hour early release schedule for this day.
Washington DC Update for 8th Grade Students
Great news…our trip coordinators have been able to finalize our 2026 Washington DC trip! Please find the Parent Packet and what to expect in the next week:
Chaperone groups and bus groups will be available to students on Friday May 1st.
Parents will be receiving a Spring Parent Packet with trip information next week. Please be looking for it to arrive in your email inbox. It will also be posted on the BWMS website.
On May 12th, Ms Ainsworth, Ms. Barr, and Mr. Grieger will be chatting with 8th graders who are attending the trip for 45 minutes. Students will be informed of specific trip expectations, given a packet (this packet will also be included in the parent packet that will be emailed next week), and have time to ask questions.
On May 14th, students will meet with their chaperone to go over some final reminders.
Lastly, bag checks will be on May 17th from 4:00 - 5:30. Students are permitted 1 suitcase/duffel bag that will be checked during this time at BWMS. This luggage will be securely stored overnight. Also, this is the time to drop off medication. Please refer to the medication emails sent from Ms. Ainsworth for more information about this.
This makes our departure day much easier for everyone. Please note that students are also allowed to bring a carry-on bag that can go on the bus. This bag will be checked by their chaperone on Monday May 18th before we head to our nation’s capitol.
BWMS Athletic Information
Reminder that all athletes should have their final forms complete and a current OHSAA Evaluation Exam Form uploaded to Final Forms directly or emailed to Mrs. Kreager stephaniekreager@bwls.net. All physicals must be received prior to the first tryout date or first practice of the season.
