Principal's Message
Hello Families! We hope you have a wonderful and restful holiday break. We're excited to start the new calendar year with our students!
Welcome Back! Students return to school on Thursday, January 8th. We can't wait to see everyone refreshed and ready to learn. Remember that being an active participant in your child's learning is the best way to support their success this semester! Don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns.
Sweet Start to the Day! Please mark your calendars for our annual Donuts with Darlings event on Friday, January 23rd. Our amazing PTO sponsors this event. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to share a sweet treat and quality time with a special female adult before the school day begins. More details and sign-up information can be found below.
We look forward to a fantastic start to 2026!

Attendance Letters
New Attendance Letter Process
We wanted to share an update about a new district-wide process for attendance communication this year. The district has now enabled an automated attendance letter system, which will send notifications to families when a student reaches 4, 7, 10, and 30 days absent. These letters are designed to keep families informed about their child’s attendance and to help identify any potential attendance concerns early on.
Please know that while these letters are automatically generated, we still greatly appreciate your continued communication when your child will be absent. We understand that illnesses and family circumstances come up, and we do not expect students to attend school when they are sick.
Thank you for helping us support strong attendance and a healthy learning environment for all students!
For more information visit our Attendance Page on our website!
Monthly Attendance Challenge
Attendance Challenge Update!
We will kick off our attendance challenge again in January, with the goal for each grade level to reach 94% positive attendance. Grades that meet the goal will earn a Glow-in-the-Dark Dance Party in the gym with a treat!
Character Strong Janurary ~ Perseverance
This month is all about Perseverance.
One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up.
Perseverance is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Strong. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting.
The Hub at Lincoln

Discover the TSD Preschool Program!
In Thompson School District, we are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education led by dedicated and highly-skilled teachers and paraprofessionals. To further support our students, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists visit weekly, and our Early Childhood Coordinator staff provide continuous classroom support, feedback, and coaching.
We use research-based curricula to foster growth in literacy, math, language, motor skills, and social-emotional learning. Our curriculum aligns with preschool through grade 12 State Academic Standards and meets federal Head Start Child Outcomes, ensuring our students develop the foundational skills needed for future success.
We believe that strong relationships are at the heart of learning. Our classrooms are designed to foster meaningful connections between students, teachers, and families, creating a supportive and inclusive community where every child feels valued and inspired to grow. By building these relationships, we nurture a love for learning, social-emotional development, and a strong foundation for future success.
