SMS Families,
October has arrived, bringing cooler weather, colorful leaves, and plenty of exciting happenings at Sunnyvale Middle School! The kids are all adapting to their schedules and getting into a routine. We have lots of great things happening at SMS. We’re off to a fantastic start this school year, and we’re grateful for your continued support in making our school a positive and productive place for every student. Below you will find information about upcoming events this month.
We’re already halfway through the first quarter, and our teachers are dedicated to making sure every student is both supported and challenged. Report cards will be available in the Parent Portal on October 17. Please take time to review them with your child and reach out to teachers if you have any questions. Reminder: Regular attendance and checking grades via parent portal help keep students on track!
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for October 8. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress. Sign-up links will be posted in Rooms later this week. This link will be available until 6:00PM on Tuesday, October 7. Each conference will be about 15 minutes long and focused on your student’s academic growth. Please reach out to your child’s teacher to coordinate a time that works better if this date does not.
UIL tryouts are happening now! Practices are scheduled to begin the week of October 20, stay tuned for updates! More details will be shared soon.
