Bulldog Bulletin
HEARTLAND ELEMENTARY- week of April 19, 2026
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTO
We were so glad to see so many smiling faces for our Spring Carnival! We were able to raise over $3500 from our silent auction and Tattoo-A-Teacher. We hope everyone enjoyed the games, fun and snacks!
Of course we could not have done it without the support of staff and teacher volunteers. We appreciate everyone for all their support!
Join us on Friday 4/24 at 5:30 for our Bulldog Boogie! There is no cost to attend the dance but we will have reasonably priced concessions and some fun glow items for purchase. We hope to see everyone there! FOr (for safety reasons, students MUST be supervised by an adult- NO DROP OFF)
We're looking for parents who want to make a difference in our school community!
Our PTO and Site-Based Decision Making Council are seeking nominations for the upcoming year. It's just one meeting a month, and you'll help support fun family events, school activities, and important decisions that impact our students. Whether you have lots of time or just a little, your voice and ideas matter! Join us in making our school an even better place for our kids! Please send the position you would like to run for, and a small information piece about yourself so that you can be added to the ballot, to HeartlandPTO.board@gmail.com. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via email or phone 270-268-2443.
THIS FRIDAY, April 24 - Bulldog Boogie
Greetings from the Principal
HELLO Bulldog families!
THANK YOU to all the staff and Heartland families that came out to the PTO Carnival Friday night. We had a great time and appreciate all the efforts of the Heartland PTO.
3rd, 4th and 5th grade students started their iReady testing last week. We are so VERY PROUD of the results that are coming in. We are seeing a lot of growth in our iReady scores from the beginning of the year. 2nd grade will start this week while 3rd and 4th grade will continue with their iReady Reading. Kindergarten and first grade still have a few weeks before they start. We will let you know when they do.
The next big test will be our KSA State test for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. The first day for KSA testing will next THURSDAY, APRIL 30th. Please do all that you can to make sure students are at school and on time (7:30AM) during the KSA window. In addition, please try to schedule any necessary appointments after 11AM. Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
With all that is going on these last few days/weeks, it is very important that students be at school. Of course we will be testing, but we will continue to teach students concepts and skills they need for their next grade level. In addition, we have some fun end of the year events planned that we want all students to be able to participate in.
Make sure you check out the dates below regarding end of the year information. Some of the dates are subject to revision. We will update you through this newsletter as well as the APP as the school year winds down.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Respectfully,
Emily Campbell
Principal
