HAPPY VIBES Post SCMEA Conference
Until next time...

Dear Piano Family,
I walked away from that Conference walking on a cloud. I felt so inspired and saw some wonderful connections made during our time together. The highlight and the icing on the cake was our membership meeting on Saturday. My heart was so full to have the opportunity to break bread with the dedicated educators that support the students we see in wonderful Honors Recitals and Masterclasses year after year. I look forward to coming together soon.
In this issue-
- Huge Thank you to the officers to share this work with me.
- Details for the Spring Festival
- Couple of Housekeeping Items
Until next time...
Yours,

Thank you!
Conference, the Festival, Masterclass and Honors recital would not happen without our Officers. So I wanted to say a big "Thank you" to our Officers for their tireless, diligent work!
Past President Andrea Quinn for her endless advice and experience. She has helped mold this organization to where we are and everything she does, every day makes this organization better.
Treasurer Bill Gesin for being ever present and quietly making sure everything is paid for, carting around our sign from session to session and always being ready to do whatever is needed, whether he is asked to or not.
Secretary Laura Cameron for being our biggest cheerleader, ready to do whatever is needed and taking such detailed notes from our last membership meeting.
Thank you to the Division Officers - we are so grateful.

Amendment - Multicultural Chair
The SCMEA Executive Board has asked us to create a Multicultural Chair. This job would work directly with the Executive Multicultural Committee to create a Repertoire list that represents diverse composers from all parts of the world.
Please see here the proposed amendment for consideration. Voting to occur March 18 or later.

Article 4 - Officers
Add "Multicultural Chair" to the bottom of the Officers List.
Article 5 - Officer Duties
Multicultural Chair – shall work to develop a list of recommended repertoire representing varied underrepresented composers including but not limited to women, African Americans, Asians and Hispanic. The Piano Division Multicultural Chair shall work directly with the SCMEA Executive Board Multicultural Chair and their committee. The Multicultural Chair shall submit reports to the February and September Piano Division officers meetings, but otherwise is not required to attend Officer meetings.
