Show Up to Succeed: Why Attendance Matters Show Up to Succeed: Why Attendance Matters

Consistent attendance is key to your child's success. Regular school attendance helps them stay on track with lessons, build strong relationships with peers and teachers, and develop a strong work ethic. Every day missed can be a missed opportunity for growth and learning.

If your child will be absent, please contact the school by phone at 614 - 365 - 6312 or email us at attendance.valleyview@columbus.k12.oh to help us keep accurate records and provide support. Let's work together to ensure your child is present, engaged, and ready to succeed!

FLU Season

Hello, Valleyview families.

Just a friendly reminder about when to keep your students home from school for illness:

If your child has a fever today, they should stay home from school today and tomorrow or until their fever is gone without giving them medicine.

If you have to give acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (advil), or Paracetamol (Panadol, Calpol, Alvedon) to keep their fever down so they can go to school or cold medicine for severe cough, sore throat or congestion, they should stay at home.

If your child vomits or has diarrhea, you should keep them home.

It is also VERY IMPORTANT that you update your Parent Portal with current phone numbers and emergency contacts in case we need to contact you for an emergency. Each student should have at least two emergency contacts. These individuals do not need to be family members; they can be any trusted adult known by the family. We also ask that families identify those authorized to pick up their students (including older siblings) from school if a parent or guardian cannot.

If you have questions about whether or not you should keep your student home or how to update your parent portal, please call me at 614-365-5707. For an interpreter call the language line to assist you:
