LJC6 Mule Memo
Our Vision is to Inspire All Students to Achieve Excellence

Thanksgiving Break November 24 - 28
We ask you to partner with us to keep all kids safe.
We ask you to partner with us to keep all kids safe.
As we shared, last week the Lone Jack C-6 School District was made aware of a potential safety threat. Everyone is safe, and continue to work closely with law enforcement, we were able to intervene before any incident could possibly escalate.
We are grateful to the parents who quickly spoke up and to our team for responding as they are trained to do. Out of respect for student privacy and to protect the integrity of the investigation, we will not be sharing additional details about the individuals involved.
We wanted to follow up and remind everyone that we all have a role to play in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. Remember, if you see something, say something. There are multiple ways we offer to make reports for concerns. One is always to report right away to a teacher, staff member, school administrator, or another trusted adult. As well, we have a district reporting form, you do not have to leave your name, just information to investigate. As well, the state provides you with an option if you want information to go to both the district and LJ law enforcement. It is an anonymous report via Courage2ReportMO, at www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/Courage2ReportMO/index.html.
Safety is always our top priority. When a concern is reported, we immediately assess it with our school safety team and law enforcement partners, take appropriate action, and communicate what we can as facts are confirmed.
Thank you for your continued support and efforts as we work to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment for our students every day.
Sincerely,
Kathy Butler
Superintendent

2025 Annual Performance Report - Celebrations!
LJ MSHS earns high rank in area APR scores.
The Lone Jack C-6 School District is proud to celebrate a remarkable year of growth and achievement at Lone Jack Middle & High School, as reflected in the newly released 2025 Annual Performance Report (APR). This year’s report showcases significant gains in both academic performance and continuous improvement, highlighting the dedication of our students, staff, and community.
Lone Jack High School earned an overall APR score of 87.5%, a dramatic increase from last year’s 62.8%. This growth represents not only improved student performance but also strengthened instructional systems and a collective commitment to excellence. Across every core academic area—English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, LJ MSHS achieved 100% of possible points for academic status. These results demonstrate that Lone Jack students are achieving at high levels and that instruction is both rigorous and responsive to student needs.
LJC6 District and both buildings also earned 100% in all continuous improvement indicators, marking a district-wide commitment to quality systems, accountability, and steady progress. These results affirm that improvement in Lone Jack schools isn’t accidental, it’s the product of collaboration, shared expectations, and the belief that every student can grow.
While celebrations are well deserved, Lone Jack C6 Schools remain focused on next steps, particularly in expanding success-ready opportunities such as college- and career-readiness assessments and maintaining steady growth in math. These goals align with the district’s ongoing strategic planning and reflect our belief in continuous improvement.
As we celebrate these results, we want to recognize our staff, students, and families who make Lone Jack such a special place. Every test score, attendance record, and growth point represents hard work, perseverance, and heart. We are grateful for the community’s trust and support as we continue to ensure that Lone Jack C6 remains a place where students are known, challenged, and prepared for success.
YOU: Your Strength, Our Team, One Purpose.

Thank you ELC families!
Area preschools recently had a "Food Fight" competition to stock the mulepack closet. More than 2,600 items were donated! Live Laugh Learn Preschool, LEAP Preschool, and all four LJ ELC classes participated.
Mrs. Fenton's afternoon class brought in the most items, taking first place. LEAP Preschool took second and the winners will have a pie party to celebrate the win!
The real winners are kiddos who need food support over the weekends! Thank you to all for instilling generosity and kindness in our littlest learners, and to parents and teachers for leading the charge!

Cold & Flu Season is here! Reminders!
We are beginning flu and cold season and have already seen some struggles with illness within our buildings, just the normal seasonal things so far. Please remind your students to wash their hands, cover their coughs, and not share drinks/food. If your student is sick please keep them home; school policy is that students must be fever free for 24 hours (unmedicated) temp under 100.4, vomit free for 24 hours, and able to make it to the bathroom if having diarrhea. If you have any questions please contact one of our nurses. District Lindi Rogers, Lrogers@lonejackc6.net; MS/HS Melissa Carpenter, Mcarpenter@lonejackc6.net; Elementary Julie Gilkey, Jgilkey@lonejackc6.net.
Also, if you are calling a student in sick please report symptoms to either building secretary, on the voicemail line or to any of the nurses. We use this information to track illness within our buildings. Thanks!
Local concern. Cyber Crime. Lone Jack C6 preparation.
The Lone Jack C6 School District works to prevent cyber emergencies from happening. Attached is a local news story that made tv and social media outlets this past week. LJC6 and our technology department work each day to prevent these type of opportunities. Mr. Davenport and the district have many preventive strategies in place. There are spam and firewall supports. There are levels of access to our wifi based on stakeholder/staff/student need. For the past 2 years, employees who have access to email and other technology, participate in MONTHLY trainings to inform them of online scams and tricks and how to be proactive and aware. We are working to keep your students safe. The district also works to safeguard our data and finance systems as well.
Our community members are our best networks!
