CVUSD Parents/Guardians are invited to an eye-opening presentation on vaping and nicotine use that will take place on Wednesday, April 9th from 6pm to 7pm at Century Academy's MPR (33 Greta Street, Thousand Oaks).
Vaping has become increasingly popular, especially among youth—but do you know what’s inside those vape pens and e-cigarettes? This engaging presentation will break down the facts about vaping, its growing impact on young people, and the potential health risks associated with nicotine use. Learn what vaping is, how it affects youth, and the health risks involved.
During the program, participants had the chance to observe classrooms, tour the schools, and gain insight into the exceptional educational experiences of students. Following the campus tours, a luncheon was held at Selvin’s Restaurant at the Palm Garden Hotel, where participants shared their personal experiences from their visits to the school campuses.
Thank you to all Chamber of Commerce and the more than 30 community members from a variety of local organizations and businesses who participated in the 2025 Principal for a Half Day Program. Click here to learn more.
Prom Pursuit: CVUSD's Student Support Services Team Hosts Annual Event
This event is coordinated each year by our Student Support Services team with students receiving invitations and/or informed of the event by their high school sites and school counselors.
The event is made possible because of the generosity from community members and local organizations who donate the items and leant their time and resources to help set-up the event. Thank you to all who helped to make the event possible!
Sycamore Canyon Middle Presents Mobile Museum of Tolerance Events for Students
Last week, Sycamore Canyon Middle School students had the opportunity to experience the Mobile Museum of Tolerance (MMOT), which visited their campus. The MMOT offers a world-class learning experience, utilizing innovative technology and interactive lessons to bring its message of tolerance directly to schools and communities nationwide.
The MMOT’s 30-seat, wheelchair-accessible vehicle serves as a self-contained classroom, while delivering a field trip experience to its visitors. Led by a licensed educator, the MMOT uses immersive technology and facilitated dialogue to deliver carefully designed workshops such as a presentation on Anne Frank and "The Power of Ordinary People - A Holocaust Workshop."
The MMOT is based on the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which challenges visitors to confront bigotry, antisemitism and prejudice, and to understand the Holocaust in both history and contemporary contexts.
CVUSD celebrates our schools' commitment to building understanding communities where all feel accepted and welcomed.
WHS's Junior Achievement Company Awarded at Student Business Competition
Congratulations to Westlake High School's Junior Achievement companies Emulsify and Teensperience for their presentations at the Student Business Competition with team Emulsify earning the title of Company of the Year!
The Junior Achievement Company Program empowers teens and young adults to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. Students learn the practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture with subject matter expert volunteer guides. Throughout the process of building their own company, students collaborate, make crucial business decisions, communicate with multiple stakeholders, and develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.
Way to go, Warriors!
