Anti Bullying Week Events

1. Odd Socks Day

Students and staff wore mismatched socks to celebrate our differences.

Odd Socks Day symbolises that everyone is unique and should be respected as they are. Wearing odd socks is a fun, visual way to show that differences should be embraced, not judged. This activity encourages students to "Choose Respect" by celebrating individuality and accepting one another.

2. International Day for Tolerance

Observed on November 16th, this day promotes tolerance and acceptance across cultures and perspectives.

This week during form time, students participated in an activity focused on International Tolerance Day. They explored the importance of tolerance in building a respectful and inclusive school environment.

3. Assemblies on Anti-Bullying

Each year group will attend an assembly focusing on anti-bullying, tailored to the needs and maturity of each age group.

These assemblies will reinforce the message of "Choose Respect" by exploring what respectful behaviour looks like and why it is essential in preventing bullying.

4. Personal Development Lesson on Anti-Bullying

Dedicated personal development lessons for each year group focusing on anti-bullying.

These lessons will focus on the theme "Choose Respect" discussing what respectful relationships look like, how to handle conflicts respectfully, and ways to create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Highlights from Our Popular Enrichment Program

At Oasis Academy Enfield, our enrichment program continues to provide students with opportunities to develop life skills, explore new interests, and grow in confidence. Here are some recent highlights:

  • Healthy University Meal Preparation:
Our popular after-school enrichment program had Year 12 and 13 students learning how to cook healthy, cost-effective meals, all in preparation for university life! Equipping our students with essential life skills is a key part of ensuring they're ready for the next chapter
  • Origami:
This creative and relaxing activity teaches students the Japanese art of paper folding. They are not only learning to make beautiful designs, like paper cranes and flowers, but also developing patience, focus, and fine motor skills. Students often take their creations home to showcase to their families.
  • Sewing Club:
A huge favourite among our students! The Sewing Club helps students learn both hand and machine sewing techniques while creating useful and stylish items. This club is perfect for fostering creativity, precision, and practical life skills.

Our enrichment program continues to empower students, equipping them with skills that will benefit them far into the future. Thank you for your continued support!

  • Have a network that supports them.
  • Be comfortable in who they are and able to continuously explore who they are becoming.
  • Be rich in language with a passion for learning.
  • Seek to include others, be other-centred and celebrate difference.

As the cold weather comes upon us, we expect students to be wearing a coat to and from school, and when making the most of the fresh air at break and lunch-time. The Academy policy is that coats must be plain navy blue or black. All other colours and excessive branding are not permitted. Students are expected to remove all outdoor clothing once inside the building.

2. Community Expectations 2. Community Expectations

At OAE we embody our expectations in everything we do. We do this through our behaviours and attitudes, modelling to the young people at OAE and expecting to see the same high standards from them.

Attendance Attendance

The Academy attendance target is 96%. We are currently at 92.3%. Your support in ensuring that you child attends school everyday is essential in securing success for them. Every day missed, means that opportunities to learn are missed and the chance of success is reduced.

You can play a role in helping to make safer online spaces for your child by:

  • talking to you child about what they are experiencing online.
  • setting rules for use of online platforms such as parental controls and safe search tools on platforms such as you tube. Involve them in setting the rules so that they understand why.

Match Report: Year 8 Boys Football - Oasis Academy Enfield vs. Lea Valley

Date: Tuesday, 12th November
Competition: Enfield Football League

Final Score: Oasis Academy Enfield 4-1 Lea Valley

This past Tuesday, our Year 8 boys football team delivered an outstanding performance in a competitive Enfield Football League match against Lea Valley. The energy was palpable, with supporters on both sides cheering on an action-packed game. From the first whistle, Oasis Academy Enfield showed strong intent, and our team quickly took control of the game. The star of the match, Malachai Ramsey-Harriot, dazzled the crowd with four exceptional goals, leading us to a well-earned 4-1 victory.

Despite some strong efforts by Lea Valley, our defense remained organized, allowing only one goal. The entire team’s cohesion and commitment shone throughout, making this win a memorable one.

Following the game, we received high praise from the Lea Valley PE teacher, who complimented Malachai specifically for his standout performance. In an exciting development, he also connected us with a scout from Ipswich, opening up potential opportunities for Malachai to showcase his talent on a larger stage. This connection represents a fantastic opportunity for Malachai’s future in football, and we’re thrilled to support him as he takes this next step.

Congratulations to the year 8 team, and to Malachai for an exceptional performance and for their hard work and dedication. This was more than just a win; it was an inspiring display of talent, teamwork, and the possibilities ahead!

2. Healthy Parent Carer Course starting January 25

Of course, your own well-being is also very important!

We are pleased to offer our popular Healthy Parent Carer 6-week course every Tuesday morning starting on 7th January 25, at the Family Hub in Ponders End.

This is not a parenting course or about how to get support for your child - it is about looking after your own well-being and giving you time to focus on your own needs. It is led by trained facilitators who are themselves parent-carers and understand the challenges of finding time for yourself whilst caring for a child/young person with additional needs.

See our website news page https://www.ourvoiceenfield.org.uk/news/show/299 and the course flyer for more information and please sign up by 2nd December at

Our Ethos at Oasis Academy Enfield Our Ethos at Oasis Academy Enfield

Our ethos is rooted in what we believe and who we are. Grounded in our story, it is an expression of our character; a set of values that inform and provide the lens on everything we do.

  • A passion to include
  • A desire to treat people equally respecting differences
  • A commitment to healthy, open relationships
  • A deep sense of hope that things can change and be transformed
  • A sense of perseverance to keep going for the long haul

It is these ethos values that we want to be known for and to live by. We are committed to a model of inclusion, equality, healthy relationships, hope, and perseverance throughout all the aspects of the life and culture of every Oasis Hub and academy community.

We encourage every member of our family, be that staff or student, to align themselves to these ethos values. The values themselves are inspired by the life, message and example of Jesus but we make it clear that we will not impose on anyone, the beliefs that underpin our ethos values. We recognise and celebrate the richness that spiritual and cultural diversity brings to our community, respecting the beliefs and practices of other faiths in the hope that we will provide a welcoming environment for all.

9 Habits at Oasis Academy Enfield 9 Habits at Oasis Academy Enfield

To help us in this process of personal growth and development we have the Oasis 9 Habits. It is our bespoke and unique approach to character development. We know that by living the way of the Habits, the Oasis Ethos will become second nature to us.
