Principal's Update
Dear Reams Road Families,
We have had another incredible week at Reams Road Elementary! Reflecting on where we are this school year, I want to take a moment to celebrate the tremendous growth our Rams have made. Achievements like these don't happen by accident—it takes our entire school community working together. From our dedicated teachers and staff to our hardworking students and supportive families, every single person plays a vital role, and I could not be prouder of our team.
October gives us a unique opportunity with a full schedule and no days off, so let’s take full advantage of this momentum! Every day matters as we keep pushing forward and growing together. Thank you for your continued partnership, and let's keep this month going strong!
As always,
Work Hard, Be Kind, Inspire DReams!
Celebrating Our Reams Road Rams: Top 20 Gains in Region 1!
We are incredibly proud to share some exciting news about our school!
According to the latest Virginia Department of Education Superintendent Region 1 Snapshot, Reams Road Elementary has been recognized as one of the Top 20 schools across the entire region for gains in our overall School Performance and Support Framework (SPSF) score! Our school achieved an impressive +10.64 point growth compared to last year.
An achievement like this doesn't happen by accident. It is the direct result of daily hard work, perseverance, and the strong partnership between our school and your homes.
To Our Students: Thank you for coming to school each day ready to learn, tackle new challenges, and give your absolute best effort. We are so proud of your hard work and growth!
To Our Families: Thank you for your constant support, encouragement, and partnership. From reading together at home to ensuring your children arrive ready to learn, your dedication plays a huge role in this success.
To Our Staff: Thank you for your tireless dedication, endless energy, and commitment to supporting every child. Your passion in the classroom makes achievements like this possible!
When our school team and families work together, incredible things happen for our children. Let’s keep working hard, staying focused, and supporting one another—we can't wait to see what amazing accomplishments we achieve together this year!
Gold Star Gala Celebration
Each year, Chesterfield County Public Schools honors Teachers of the Year from every school at a Gold Star Gala. Congratulations to our 205-2026 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Walker embodies the heart and dedication of an exceptional educator, earning her well-deserved recognition as our Teacher of the Year. She is a master collaborator who works seamlessly alongside colleagues to build inclusive, accessible learning environments where every student can thrive. Driven by a passion for innovation, she continuously explores creative teaching strategies and adaptive tools to meet her students' unique needs. Above all, her unwavering enthusiasm, positivity, and belief in her learners inspire them to break through barriers and reach their full potential every single day.
The Great Pumpkin Challenge
Two weeks into our Great Pumpkin Bus Challenge, our "pumpkin patches" are really growing! Students earn pumpkins each time their bus driver spots them demonstrating safe and kind choices on the ride to and from school. Coaches are keeping a steady tally as the drivers share updates, and we can’t wait to count up all the pumpkins at the end of the month for a celebratory morning movement meeting!
WORD UP! REAMS VOCABULARY PARADE
Join us for a celebration of words, reading, and creativity! Our entire school community will bring vocabulary to life in a fun, vibrant costume parade
When: Friday, October 30
Pick a Word: Choose a favorite, unusual, or "juicy" word (noun, verb, or adjective).
Make a Sign: Your word must be written clearly on a sign, hat, sash, or t-shirt so everyone can read it. Be Creative & Thrifty: Do not buy expensive costumes! Use recycled household items, cardboard, old clothes, and construction paper to bring your word to life.
Keep it Safe: Costumes must follow the school dress code. No weapons, full-face masks, or heavy makeup.
Examples: Gigantic (wear oversized clothes), Sunny (yellow shirt with paper rays), Fragile (bubble wrap vest).
