The Panther Post
🐾 Leave your mark on Page 🐾
Week of October 19
Hello Page Families,
My heart has been heavy following the shooting in Bend, and I know many of yours have been, too. News like this feels especially close to home and can bring so many emotions as parents and educators. Please know how deeply we care about your children and their safety.
Our staff complete ALICE training every year, and we spend at least 30 minutes each school month teaching students emergency procedures for fire, earthquake, and safety threats, including lockout, lockdown, and shelter-in-place. Throughout this instruction, we emphasize listening to and following their teachers’ directions. Our exterior doors remain locked and are never propped open. These routines are part of the care we put into helping our school be a safe, welcoming place for your children.
Our students have brought so much joy to our days this week. Their laughter, kindness, and excitement for learning are a gift, and seeing our kinders enjoy the pumpkin patch was a sweet reminder of the childhood moments we treasure. There is so much goodness in the everyday moments at Page: a friend offering to help, a student proudly sharing something they have learned, or a smile and greeting in the hallway. Those little moments matter, and we want every child to feel known, cared for, and happy to be here.
Please reach out anytime you have a question, a concern, or something you would like to share. You can email me at teresa.collins@springfield.k12.or.us.Thank you for sharing your children with us and for partnering with us through both the joyful days and the difficult ones. We are grateful for the warmth and care you bring to our Page family.
Together, we leave our mark,
Teresa Collins
