Branagan's Bulletin

Week of February 6 - 10, 2023

Branagan's Bulletin Week of February 6 - 10, 2023

Welcome Back!

Hello MHS,

I hope you had a great weekend.

Such an exciting week ahead for our school. This is the week that we begin the journey of the new high school schedule with engagement and preparation of our new Program of Studies and launch of student scheduling, which will officially begin on Friday of this week.

It is so important that we collectively begin this week with our week-long Advisory sessions to help each of you learn more about the courses that we will offer next year. I hope everyone will take a moment and explore the Program of Studies to ensure your own depth of understanding of what is being offered next year. The Program of Studies is linked in the Bulletin below.

The goal of this week is to help each of you prepare their list of courses you want to take next year. Additionally, it is so important you select the courses you are truly passionate about that will help in your pathway toward graduation.

One last item....The Winter Ball last on Saturday evening was just amazing. It was so good to see our school bring back this tradition and to see our new gym come to life with Sachem Pride with our student body dancing the night away. Well done, Sachems!

Can't wait to see you!

Have a great week!

Bran

MHS will launch the 2023 - 2024 Program of Studies for all students in Grades 8 - 11 from February 6 - 10, 2023. With the preparation for the new schedule for the high school, it was imperative that we rethink how we engage this important process for our students and their families. Here are some highlights:

1. Advisory Week - February 6 - 9, 2023

  • MHS will host an Advisory each day from Monday, February 6 - Thursday, February 9, 2023. This will allow us to engage our students with various aspects of the new schedule and the exciting courses that are launching next year.

2. Program of Studies Nights

  • MHS will host a Program of Studies Night each evening beginning Monday, February 6 - Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 6:30pm each evening. The rationale for this nightly event is to allow families to come to MHS and learn more about courses and the new schedule on an evening that fits their schedule. The program will be same each evening.

3. Aspen Portal Opens - February 10, 2023

  • Students will begin choosing courses in Aspen beginning on Friday, February 10 through Friday, February 17, 2023

Enjoy!
