Happy Sunday, Pirates!

It was a wonderful week at Swansboro High School, filled with active learning in our classrooms, field trips, exciting athletic events, and staff recognition. Congratulations to Coach Kim Miller on being inducted into the Methodist University Hall of Fame Friday evening!

Congratulations to our Marching Pirates on their outstanding performance on Saturday at the Topsail competition! They were named Grand Champions of the competition and earned first place in Music Performance, first place in Color Guard, second place in Percussion, first place in General Effect, first place in Drum Major, and first place in their class.

Congratulations to our volleyball team, who dominated the conference tournament and won the championship Wednesday night! Our women’s tennis team advanced through the second round of the playoffs, and Madi Reid will compete in the individual regionals this week. In cross country, both teams placed first while also celebrating Senior Night.

This week’s athletic schedule begins on Monday with tennis at J.H. Rose. On Tuesday, golf will compete in regionals at Reedy Creek, tennis will return to J.H. Rose, soccer will host Croatan, and volleyball will host the second round of the playoffs. Cross country will compete in the conference tournament at Havelock on Wednesday. On Thursday, soccer will host Northside while JV football travels to Northside. Varsity football will host Northside on Friday. Our cheerleaders will host and compete in the conference competition on Saturday.

The PreACT will be administered for all 10th-grade students on Tuesday. Students are reminded to bring their fully charged laptops. We are still seeking snack donations from families; if you can help, please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/gxKqWVS
