Lost Chromebook? Report It Right Away!

If your student’s Chromebook goes missing, it’s very important to report it right away to the Main Office. The sooner it’s reported, the better the chance we have of finding it!

Here’s what to do:

  • Students: If you realize your Chromebook is missing, tell the Main Office as soon as possible. Acting quickly gives us the best chance to recover it.

  • Families: Please remind your student to report a lost or misplaced Chromebook right away.

  • Important: If a Chromebook isn’t found, there will be a financial obligation for the lost device.

Prompt reporting helps protect school technology—and saves students from unnecessary stress and charges.

How to Make a Lasting Impression

As you begin applying for scholarships, it’s important to remember that a scholarship application doesn't end with the interview. Sending a thank-you note and following proper etiquette can make a lasting impression on scholarship committees and help future students as well. Here are some key reasons to send a thank-you note and tips for proper scholarship etiquette.

The Importance of Thank-You Notes

Sending a thank-you note after a scholarship interview isn’t just polite—it’s strategic. Here’s why:

  • Express Gratitude: It shows appreciation for the opportunity and respect for the scholarship committee's time.
  • Reinforce Your Interest: A thank-you note helps reaffirm your commitment and enthusiasm for the scholarship.
  • Highlight Your Strengths: You can briefly mention key points from your interview, reinforcing your qualifications.
  • Build Relationships: It helps build a positive rapport with the scholarship committee, which could be beneficial if other opportunities arise.
  • Show Professionalism: Sending a well-written thank-you note demonstrates your communication skills and professionalism.

Scholarship Etiquette Tips

  1. Write a Thank-You Note to Organizations That Awarded You Money: While sending an email is fine, a handwritten note is more personal and impactful. Be sure to send your thank-you note within two weeks of receiving the scholarship.
  2. Thank Those Who Helped You: Don’t forget to thank the teachers, counselors, and others who supported you during the scholarship application process. A note or phone call to them shows gratitude and strengthens those relationships.
  3. Provide Updates for Renewable Scholarships: If you’ve received a renewable scholarship, consider sending an annual update to the organization that awarded it. Let them know how their support is making a difference in your academic journey.

After Receiving the Award

  1. Send a Handwritten Thank-You Note: Acknowledge the scholarship provider for their generosity and support. This small gesture is crucial in maintaining a positive relationship with the organization.
  2. One Year After Receiving the Award:
    • If your scholarship is not renewable, send a final thank-you note expressing your gratitude and sharing what you’ve accomplished with their support.
    • If your scholarship is renewable, include an update on your academic progress and thank them for their continued support.

Why This Matters

Following these etiquette tips not only reflects well on you but also helps ensure that scholarship providers continue to support deserving students in the future. Your professionalism and gratitude can open doors for other students and help maintain good relationships between scholarship programs and your school.
