Principal's Message
I hope your holiday break was restful and joyful. I spent mine with my family. We took the time to reconnect with our roots, and it was truly special.
As we dive back into school routines, anticipate a bit of adjustment in your child's schedule – totally normal after the holidays. Encouraging an early bedtime can make this transition smoother.
Exciting news! Our school week kicks off on January 9th, and looking ahead, we'll be observing MLK Day on Monday next week. 🗓️ This means two short weeks filled with learning and growth!
A quick reminder about the magic of attendance – it's the secret ingredient to success. Keep those little learners shining bright every day.
Wishing you all a positive and energized return to school. Let's make this week and the next ones absolutely fantastic! 🚀✨
Warm regards,
Dr. G

Construction Update
As you return this week, you will notice the following change due to construction.
- The back of the building was completely demolished for piers/foundation to be installed.
Because those doors are considered escape routes, a platform is going to be built starting this Friday and completing Saturday. DISD Safety representative will be on-site Saturday to ensure it is safely installed.
Aside from the item above, we noticed that the maintenance department is trenching around the front of the building. The Project Manager stated that, they have an inspection with the City of Dallas scheduled for Saturday. They will return on Monday to backfill the trench, pour concrete, and clean up. This should not impact families as they drop off students on Tuesday.

From Ms. Hernandez (Registrar):
- Don't forget to create your Parent Portal Account, so you can check your child's grades, attendance, assignments and teacher's notes.
- If the student is absent for more than three consecutive days, a doctor's note must be turned in to Ms. Hernandez.
- Any absence other than doctor's appointment, family emergency (hospitalization, death), religious holidays or court appearance, can't be excused. (Flyer attached)
- For any information regarding grades reports, attendance or students' contact information, please contact Ms. Hernandez 972-749-5903 or email YAHERNANDEZ@dallasisd.org
