The Weekly Highlander

Next week will be busy at Hewes. We have a Therapy Dog visit on Tuesday at lunch, students can participate using PBIS points and purchase their tickets from the PBIS store. Wednesday at 8:30 am we will have the Breakfast Club in the MPR, join our counseling team for the activity and snacks. Basketball will start after spring break, students must turn in a permission slip before spring break and forms can be picked up in the office. ASB is hosting Spirit Week with a St.Patrick's Day theme, see the details for each day on the flyer in this newsletter.

Students who will be attending Foothill next year should plan to attend the Foothill Showcase night on Thursday, March 14th. Families will be able to take tours, meet teachers and students, and learn about the many programs and sports offered at Foothill High School. All 8th-grade students and their families are encouraged to attend and get ready for high school.

Please SAVE THE DATE for the Hewes Celebration of Learning that will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 6 pm - 7 pm. We invite ALL families to come to campus and see what your student has been learning over the past school year.

The Hewes staff is recognizing HIGHLANDERS “H” FOR A DAY AWARD! Highlander for a Day is a program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, and Results.

Students interested in playing Basketball must sign up before spring break. If you missed the information meeting on Thursday, March 7th do not worry. Students can pick up a permission slip from the office and it MUST be turned in BEFORE spring break. The season will officially start the week of March 26th.

The Hewes PTA has provided funds this year for campus beautification. The teachers and staff at Hewes worked together to move pots and purchase plants to refresh Marilyn's Garden at the front of our campus. Marilyn Stone was a beloved counselor at Hewes for many years and this space is dedicated to her memory and work.
