A message from our Dual Language teachers:
We are so proud of the progress our students have made during the first quarter! It has been wonderful to see their excitement and confidence grow as they take their first steps in learning Spanish.
During the second quarter, we will continue building on this foundation by introducing new letters, expanding vocabulary, and encouraging more reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish.
Here are the key areas we will be working on:
New consonants – S, T, N, C, B, L and F: Students will learn to recognize, pronounce, and write these letters, as well as identify words that begin with each one.
Reading words and sentences: We will practice reading simple words and short sentences that include the letters and syllables we have learned.
Writing simple sentences: Students will begin writing short sentences using familiar structures such as:
Yo veo… (I see…)
Me gusta… (I like…)
Yo tengo… (I have…)
Basic conversations: Through short dialogues and role-play, students will practice introducing themselves and others, using expressions like:
Mi maestra se llama… (My teacher’s name is…) Yo me llamo… (My name is…) Yo pienso ..... (I wonder......)
These activities will help strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while building confidence using the Spanish language in real situations.
How you can help at home: Please continue encouraging your child to share what they are learning in class. Reading together, practicing simple phrases, or asking them to teach you new words are great ways to support their learning. Your interest and encouragement make a big difference!
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We are looking forward to another wonderful quarter of learning and growing together!
