Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
It’s been nice to have a little reprieve from the extremely cold weather and to see a little of this snow melt away. I hope all of you have enjoyed some of the sunshine that peaked through this week! We noticed our BHS students entered the building with a little more energy, so I think the weather change has made a difference for them too.
This newsletter contains several reminders about important events coming up throughout this month. As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, February 16th in observance of Presidents Day.
On February 26, 2026, BHS will be hosting our College/Career Day. (Please see flyer with details below.) This is the day that all of our juniors will be taking the state-funded ACT test at no cost, while all of our other students take part in some great high school experiences!
Thank you to everyone who attended our scheduling meeting on Thursday. It was nice to see all of the interest in the various programs at BHS and hope that students and parents understand a little more about the high school experience. If you have specific questions about your student’s potential scheduling options, please reach out to their counselor.
We hope you all have a great weekend. We look forward to welcoming back BHS students on Tuesday for the final three weeks of the third quarter!
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
Hopefully the snow melts and we start seeing some better temperatures as we move through February and into March.
Just a couple quick reminders.
When dropping off HS students in the morning, please enter the campus from Old 32 and drop off at our designated area between the HS and the stadium scoreboard. For safety reasons, I am asking parents to not access the student/visitor parking lot for drop off in the morning.
All student drivers are required to park in their designated spot unless there is a medical reason with a doctor’s note to have a temporary spot. Student drivers must communicate with me.
Thank you, and enjoy Presidents Day with no school on Monday.
Have a great weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
