Principal's Message
Dear GIS Families and School Community,
Happy November! As the crisp fall air takes over, I want to express my deepest gratitude for our vibrant school community. It has been a fantastic start to the school year, and our students continue to inspire us every day.
Reflecting on October Fun
October was filled with excitement, energy, and school spirit! We ended the month by celebrating academic excellence and growth at our Academic Assembly, where so many of our students were recognized for their dedication and positive attitudes. Also, our annual Monster Mash brought immense joy and laughter across campus—it was wonderful seeing our students dress up, celebrate together, and enjoy time with friends and staff. Thank you to everyone who helped make these events such memorable experiences!
Hard Work in the Classroom & Academic Expectations
Inside our classrooms, learning is in full swing. Our teachers and students are putting in immense hard work each day, diving into rich discussions, collaborative projects, and challenging coursework.
To support the learning happening during the school day, please remember that homework is an essential part of your child’s learning process. Completing homework daily reinforces classroom instruction, builds strong study habits, and helps teachers gauge understanding. Please be aware that missing or incomplete assignments can negatively affect your child's overall grades. We encourage parents to check in daily on homework progress and reach out to teachers if your student needs extra support.
The Importance of Attendance
Consistent attendance is one of the most critical factors in your child’s academic success and social growth. Every school day provides essential opportunities for learning, collaboration, and personal growth that cannot be replicated at home. Being present, on time, and ready to learn every single day sets your child up to thrive. If your child must be absent due to illness, please remember to notify the main office so we can update our records and assist with make-up work.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, support, and dedication to our school community. Together, we make this a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow!
Warm regards,
Principal Bogan
