PHS STAFF HONORED BY NAACP
Last Saturday, October 24th, the Port Huron Chapter of the NAACP held it's 2026 Freedom Fund Awards Dinner. Congratulations to Roosevelt Principal Cerees Hazely, who received the Geri Kimbro Humanitarian Award, and Port Huron High School/Central MS 8th grade Band Director Cameron Lee, who received the Kevin Totty Sr. Sustainable Leadership Award. We could not be more proud to have them on our Port Huron Schools team as educators, mentors, and leaders.
OCTOBER IS ALMOST OVER, BUT THE IMPORTANCE OF ATTENDANCE REMAINS
CROSSTOWN 2026 IS IN THE BOOKS
Another terrific night coming together as a community to support all PHS students! The Red Hawks and Huskies put on quite a show for the crowds, including top-notch band, cheerleader, dance team and color guard performances. The main attraction, of course, was the football game and our teams did not disappoint - it was a battle right down to the last second of the game, a fantastic effort at both ends of the field.
To kick things off, the Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund honored our Early Childhood Staff, who took the field during pre-game for much-deserved recognition of their efforts in starting the strong foundation every student deserves.
A big thank you to the sponsors and individual guests of our Endzone Tailgate Party, who put more than $14,000 into the endowment, 100% of which is reinvested in our students through grants for programs across our district.
We are incredibly proud of all our students who participated in Crosstown, and grateful for this generous community who always steps up to support our kids.
TIME TO SET THE CLOCKS BACK
Before you go to bed Saturday night, be sure to set your clocks back one hour. Daylight Savings Time officially ends at 2:00am, Sunday, November 1st.
CRULL COMETS VISIT BOARD OF EDUCATION
On October 19th, the Port Huron Schools Board of Education held it's monthly meeting and students from Crull Elementary took the stage to lead the board members and guests in the Pledge of Allegiance. Leadership opportunities such as this build confidence, academic and social growth, and give our students the chance to participate in the proceedings of a governing body within our community. Our Comets did an excellent job and we appreciate the staff and families who helped make it happen.
