Intern of the Week
Gabriel Simoes
Luli Hollenbaugh and Emily Brophy
We have had the amazing opportunity to intern at the Chatham Council on Aging this year. What we love the most about it is the strong sense of community. At the COA, we are always greeted with open arms and a smile whether from the staff or the guests, and it is such a welcoming and uplifting environment to be a part of. We do a variety of activities such as assisting the staff with day programs, occasional reception support, decorating, scheduling, and much more. Each of the tasks that we do fosters our independence and communication skills which will be useful in transitioning into adulthood. By far, our favorite part of this internship is connecting with each of the guests, building relationships, and seeing them thrive. Every day at the COA is one to look forward to, especially on Bingo days!

Scholar Athletes of the Month: FEBRUARY
Morgan Willis
Morgan is a leader on and off the ice. Morgan had a great month of February in terms of growth as a player. She really found her role as a 200 foot player showcasing her hardworking attitude and grit. She also took on a big role as a penalty killer heading into playoffs allowing her to use her quick feet to her advantage shutting other teams down. In the classroom Morgan carries a 4.08 GPA. - Coach Zach Wells
Finn Hyora
I have known Finn for a little over 4 years. This is the 2nd year I’ve been able to be his head coach. Finn is a 3-time captain and starter. He is a great player and leader. He is admired by team members, teachers and students.
I’ve been fortunate to coach Finn. He is intelligent, a coach on the floor. He does everything we ask of a student athlete. He knows where every player should be on the floor. He never cuts corners to achieve success. He is a special young man. In the classroom Finn carries a 4.31 GPA. - Coach John McCarthy
