Forced Proximity Collaborative Drawing
Mr. Pruc’s AP Art Studio Class kicked off the year with a “Forced Proximity Collaborative Drawing.” This project was completed by AP and Honors art classes. It’s more than just an art assignment; it’s a community-building activity designed to get students working together from day one.
Students started with prompts from Mr. Pruc, then gradually took more control and responsibility, adding their unique vision to the piece. The artists use a fascinating process of layering different media and making critical decisions about what to keep as the layers build and what to cover up.
The result? A true collaboration of ideas and creative practice. Don’t forget to check out the newly unveiled work near the auditorium/commons area.

Great start to the season! We took 2nd to a great St. Charles North team 26-53. SCN is ranked as high as 6th in the State. Elijah Mendoza led the team in 5th place overall. JV team took 4th, and the F/S squad took 1st, led by individual champion Erick Cordova. Great job Mustangs!
Coaches Corner - Girls Tennis
Submitted by Coach Winter
The girls varsity tennis team has a 4-4 record thru first 2 weeks, playing very good tennis with a young squad . Overall wins leaders are : Brianna Mondragon with 6 as well as Paige Scaramella, 5 wins each for Alina Ahmed and Valerie Gazaeva.
Caoches Corner - Girls Volleyball
Submitted by Coach Willis
The MHS Girls Volleyball program is off to a great start! We had a great turnout of athletes at tryouts and were able to fill 5 full teams (Freshman A & B, JV1, JV2, and Varsity). It has been a wonderful couple of weeks of team-building, skill improvement, and overall fun. Now that we are fully in competition mode, the Girls Volleyball program is working on gaining momentum. Serving, passing, and serve receive have gotten more consistent as all levels put some game experience under their belts against Palatine last week. We had a very active weekend with nearly all levels participating in invitationals.. We are looking forward to this weekend’s matches where Varsity heads to the New Trier invitational and JV2 tackles their first tournament of the season at Libertyville. Go Mustangs!
