Randall Weekly Update - Week 13

Happy Friday Randall families!

We would like to reshare and celebrate that the 2024-2025 School Report Card indicates that Randall School Exceeds Expectations. This is Randall’s highest Wisconsin State Report Card since the 2018-2019 school year. Over the past two years Randall students and staff have increased Randall’s score over thirteen (13) points.

Earlier in November as a staff we celebrated this achievement, but as a team we want to continue to grow and do better for each student. Although we have made progress, Randall has two key areas of focus for the next six to eighteen months. The first is promoting growth, which is measured annually in both ELA and math. The second is improving outcomes for our target group, specifically students who fall within the bottom twenty-five percent. We believe that a child's learning is a collaborative endeavor, and as a school community, we are dedicated to supporting each student's success in partnership with the important efforts of parents and caregivers at home.

Randall’s report card can be accessed at http://dpi.wi.gov/accountability/report-cards, along with additional information from the Wisconsin Department of Instruction. Our school's report card will also be publicly available on our website soon.

Congratulations to the Girls A-Team on their undefeated season. The girls finished the regular season with hard-fought victory over Salem last night. Randall will host all three playoff rounds the week we return from Thanksgiving Break. If you are interested, the next game is tomorrow in the Feeder Tournament at Wilmot High School. The girls B-team beat Salem last night with a score of 16-8. The girls B-team also played against Salem in the elementary gym where they beat them 26-4. Way to sweep the evening, Wildcats! We also want to thank our student Super Fans, our Pep Band and our Wildcat Cheerleaders, who are all outstanding members of our Wildcat events!

Finally, as next week is only a 2 day week, I will not send a weekly Smore. On behalf of the entire Randall staff, we wish all of our Wildcat families a delightful Thanksgiving.

We look forward to working with you and your student(s) throughout the 2025-26 school year. It is my goal to be as clear and supportive as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at agarcia@randall.k12.wi.us with any questions or concerns.

From Ms. Roth

Hello Randall families!

We have spent the last few weeks discussing all things GRATITUDE. We discussed what the word "gratitude" means and tied it to the word "thankful". We really dug into why it's so important to stop and think about the things we have in our lives and why it's important to be grateful for them.

Each of my students in 4K-2nd grade wrote down something they are thankful for on a fall colored leaf to hang on our gratitude tree. They love doing this activity and seeing the tree change!

My second graders spent some time coming up with tons of different people, places, things to be grateful for. They wrote all of their ideas down in their own gratitude jars and I also asked each of them to write one of their ideas on the board. I challenged them not to write something that was already up there so we could get lots of different ideas! (See Photo)

I think my favorite activity that we did was when we talked about thanking our teachers and the different staff members in our building. Each student was able to pick any staff member and write why they are grateful for them! I then went around and taped them to each staff member's door. Some of the Junior High teachers joined in and had some of their students do them as well which was a nice surprise! I included photos of ones written for Mr. Adamek, Ms. Fischbach, and Officer Phelps. :)

It's been a wonderful few weeks on the topic of gratitude- especially leading up to Thanksgiving. After our small break, we will be back at it with a brand new topic for the month of December!

Have a wonderful break and holiday!

Mrs. Roth"

Speak Up Speak Out Program for Randall Speak Up Speak Out Program for Randall

Randall School is pleased to announce the launch of the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT confidential tipline as part of our school safety efforts. Tiplines are used to identify threats to schools, and for concerns impacting school age youth such as bullying, drug use, suicidal thoughts and more. Schools that promote and use tiplines have less violence overall. The SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) tipline is run by the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of School Safety. Parents and students, this tool is available for anyone to use to help keep the Randall Community safe!

Randall students will engage in learning about how to advocate for their own (and others') safety and well-being over the next month in partnership with our counselor, Mrs. Roth, as well as other members of our student services team. We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of communicating when/if they feel that their safety may be compromised.

Here is a LINK to an informational flyer about Speak Up Speak Out.

Thank you in advance for all of your support!
