Seniors and Families

5/2 Update

We had a great senior meeting and cap and gown distribution today. The seniors looked amazing in their caps and gowns. We reminded seniors that graduation practice is mandatory in order to participate in the official graduation. Students must be present at the Civic Center on May 28th no later than 8:30 for graduation practice.

As you think about graduation, the security screening procedures to expect are below.

Security Screening for Graduation

All guests will be subject to screening upon entry, which may include:

· Visual inspection

· Bag search

· Metal detector screening

· Pat-down (if necessary)

Bag Policy

· Clear bags must not exceed 13” x 4”

· Solid bags must not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”

· Backpacks are not permitted

· All bags are subject to search

Other Prohibited Items

· Balloons and gift bags

· Outside food and beverages

· Signs or Banners

Additional Notes

· Cameras are permitted if they comply with the bag policy.

· For safety of our graduates and guests, Glen Avenue will be closed.

Arrival & Entry Information

· Guests may enter through the main Civic Center doors beginning at 6:00 pm.

· Graduates and staff will enter through the Midway entrance on the right side of the Civic Center and will go through security screening there.

We encourage all guests to arrive early and allow time for screening.

Please share these guidelines with family and friends to ensure a smooth, safe, and celebratory event for our graduates.

Even though you are limited on what you can carry into the event, we will have the commencement groups inside the civic center and this allows you to order items for your senior to give them onsite. Check out the link for more information. https://www.thecommencementgroup.com/jamesbennett/
