September Principal Newsletter

• Thank you to everyone who attended Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see so many of our Jackson families and have the opportunity to connect with you. I also want to thank all of the families who have stopped to say hello or introduce themselves before or after school. I have truly enjoyed meeting you and getting to know our amazing Jackson community!

• Picture Day-Families can place online orders at mydorian.com beginning 3 weeks before Picture Day and continuing through 2 days after Picture Day.
• THANK YOU PTO FOR ALL YOU DO. This month our staff lunch room snack closet was stocked, you bought walkie talkies for each teacher for safety, and purchased the projector for the MPR.
• THANK YOU TO ALL THE FAMILIES WHO DONATE TO YOUR TEACHERS CLASSROOMS. WE APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH.
• New Families-If you would like to have your child's birthday on the Marquee please stop by the office and they will help you. It is $15.00 and this money goes back to the school to support students.
• For morning drop off-please if you walk your child to the classroom please go to the outside door. Students can not be dropped off in the hallways. Thank you for understanding.

• A Friendly Reminder for Arrival & Dismissal
• Thank you to our families for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and running smoothly!

• We understand that our TK/K families may want to walk their child to or from class. However, cars may not be left parked or unattended in the yellow zone in front of the school. This area is for loading and unloading only.

  Please help us by following these safety expectations:

  • Yellow Zone: Please remain in your vehicle and continue moving forward as space becomes available.
  • Dismissal: Please wait in your vehicle until your child comes to you.
  • No Parking: Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the yellow zone, even for a few minutes.
  • No Street Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Please do not stop in the middle of the road to let your child in or out of the car. This creates a serious safety concern.

  We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation. The safety of our Stingrays and families is always our top priority!

• School Site Council – Parent Members Needed!

• We are looking for several parents/guardians to join our Jackson Avenue School Site Council (SSC)!

  The School Site Council is a great way to get involved, share your voice, and help support the goals and priorities of our school.

  • We meet four times per year
  • Meetings are held on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Survey ballot is below

  If you are interested in serving on our School Site Council, please be sure to complete the survey. We would love to have you join us and be part of this important team!

  
  

• LCAP Parent Representative Needed!

  We are also looking for one parent/guardian to represent Jackson Avenue on our district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Committee.

  This is a great opportunity to represent Jackson and provide valuable parent input as the district discusses goals, priorities, and how we can best support our students.

  • 8 meetings throughout the school year, beginning in October
  • Meetings are from 6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Meetings are held at the District Office
  • Child care will be provided
