· Leadership positions (called Core Officers) in Student Council require a SIGNIFICANT time commitment. This goes above and beyond student council membership. There are requirements and guidelines in place to ensure the leadership team is successful.

  1. To run for a leadership position, core officer candidates must be student council members and form a group called a “ticket”. All four candidates, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, will run and campaign together. There are no exceptions to this requirement.

  2. Core Officer Responsibilities provide an overview of what each officer position entails.

  3. Core Officer Guidelines are in place to provide a firm foundation for the success of the Core Officer Team. Exceptions to these guidelines will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Contact Mrs. Tolles to discuss possible exceptions.

  4. Mrs. Tolles will host 5 “Build a Core Officer Ticket” meetings online to provide opportunities for students to meet others interested in leadership positions. COMPLETE THIS SURVEY to register to attend.

  5. The president of each ticket must email Mrs. Tolles the name of each person on the ticket and the office each person is running for before 12 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026.

  6. Mrs. Tolles will verify each student’s eligibility on the ticket and will send an email to verify if he or she is eligible to run for a Core Office.

  7. Record a Campaign Commercial that is 4 minutes or less. (There will be no exceptions to this rule.)

● Each ticket can record on their own or meet with Mrs. Tolles online to record a commercial.

● Send Mrs. Tolles the link to the recorded commercial before 5 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026.

● Mrs. Tolles will email all commercials to the student body on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

● Students will watch commercials and cast their vote no later than 5 pm Thursday, September 24, 2026.

● The winning officer team will be announced on Friday, September 25, 2026.

● Mrs. Tolles will meet online with the winning officer team sometime on Friday, September 25, 2026.
