ECACS June 2024 Newsletter

We have much to be grateful for and in the midst of the busyness, anxiety, and stresses of an academic school year, there were many blessings to be thankful for. Blessings such as families assisting our school communities, students sharing and caring for the people in need within our communities by completing good works, taking part in important liturgical events/activities including devotional prayers, celebrating Mass, and liturgical worship and praise! We have MUCH to be thankful for!

A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff, students, and parents of all our school communities. We very much appreciate your dedication, hard work, and joy that you bring daily into our school communities. The successes and celebrations of this past school year could not have been accomplished without your commitment, positivity, and strength!

We are also thankful for the upcoming summer months in which the family can safely spend time together. Everyone certainly deserves a restful and peaceful break. We are thankful for our graduates who have achieved a significant milestone within their lives. May God grant each of our graduates and their families great joy, good health, and many blessings. WAY TO GO & CONGRATULATIONS to all our young graduating men and women of ECACS!

We are thankful to have Catholic Education in our lives. Thank you, God, for blessing our school division with loving and kind staff members who give of themselves to make their students’ lives better. We ask God to bless our hard-working staff with a safe and restful summer holiday.

We are thankful for the gift of Fathers. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and may God continue to use you as a channel of peace, strength, wisdom, and love within your family and our greater communities. Happy Father’s Day!

Last but not least, we are thankful to have journeyed this school year with you! Thank you very much for being a part of the ECACS family and together we look forward to our upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

On April 26, 2024, Mr. Don Strandquist was awarded the prestigious Bus Driver of the Year Award by the Student Transportation Association of Alberta (STAA) during a ceremony held in Stoney Plain, Alberta. The ceremony was attended by Superintendent Mr. Jim Taplin and Trustee Mr. Duane Austin, representing Stettler, as privileged guests.

Superintendent Taplin acknowledged Mr. Strandquist's remarkable milestone, mentioning that just a few months ago, in December 2023, they celebrated Don's fifty years of service behind the wheel. He expressed admiration for Don's dedication, commitment, and sacrifice, highlighting how these qualities have enriched the school division and the lives of all who have had the pleasure of working alongside him. He remarked, "Don's fifty years of service is a testament to his exceptional character and his invaluable contributions. The smiles on students' faces as they step off Don's bus each morning demonstrate the positive impact he has on their day."

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Don for his many years of dedicated service, which have made a significant difference in the lives of the families of ECCS.
