Dear Families,

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun and successful Trunk or Treat last Friday! We had a fantastic turnout, and the creativity behind all the decorated trunks was amazing.

In addition to the week's fun, we are excited to announce that we have earned an "A" letter grade for the 2025–2026 school year through the Arizona Department of Education! It takes a strong partnership between our educators, students, and families to maintain an "A" rating, and we sincerely thank you for your continued support.

This was also a productive week for safety. We completed both an evacuation drill and a bus evacuation drill, and our students did an outstanding job following directions and staying safe on both occasions.

We wrapped up the week with some wonderful celebrations, our Preschool students had a blast during Thursday's costume parade, and today we loved seeing our Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students show off their favorite stories in the book parade!

We wish you all a restful, wonderful weekend and look forward to another great week ahead!

The Student Lighthouse is hosting a Food Drive from Nov.3rd-Nov.12th. We're collecting canned and non-perishable food items to support our Mountain Shadows families in need. The class that collects the most food will win a class party. Thank you for your support in making our food drive a success!

Dear Mountain Shadows Families,

On Friday, November 13, 2026, Mountain Shadows Elementary will hold our Annual Veterans Day Assembly as we come together to honor and celebrate the Veterans who have served our country.

We would love to recognize the Veterans who are part of our Mountain Shadows family by featuring them in a special video during our assembly.

If you have a Veteran in your family whom you would like us to honor, please email a scanned photo of the Veteran to Mrs. Yanez by Friday, November 6.

Please include the following information with your photo:

• Veteran’s Name
• Student’s Name and Grade
• Relationship to the Student (grandparent, parent, aunt/uncle, sibling, etc.)

We encourage parents/guardians interested in Open Enrollment to visit our website for additional information about the application process & requirements. *If your student is currently on open enrollment at our school, you do not need to reapply.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Here are some important dates to know to ensure your voice is heard through the election process.

- Ballot Box: A ballot box is available in the District Office front office lobby Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- In-Person Voting on Election Day Only: In-person voting will be available in the District Office Boardroom on Tuesday, November 3, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
