Pre-K Graduation!
This week, Buel’s pre-K students finished the program with a “graduation” ceremony. Here’s to the Mac High Class of 2035!
See the MSD Facebook page for more photos!
Congratulations Fifth Graders!
Fifth graders across the district were promoted to middle school this week with festive ceremonies marking the occasion.
Check out Wascher’s celebration, which began with an all-school “clap out” as fifth grade students paraded through the hallways!
See the MSD Facebook page for more photos.
Congratulations Eighth Graders!
Duniway and Patton are both hosting drive-through promotions tonight at their schools, beginning at 5:30 p.m., to celebrate the new Grizzlies! (See more details below.)
Congratulations Class of 2022!
Despite the ongoing downpour of an atmospheric river, 536 McMinnville HIgh School students celebrated graduation last Friday night.
The Class of 2022 included 21 valedictorians, 18 salutatorians, 58 honor diploma recipients and 152 honor cords.
Students also earned 4,165 college credits and 310 attained Career Pathway endorsements.
Congratulations, Grizzlies! (See more photos on the MSD Facebook page.)
Congratulations to Grizzly All-State Players of the Year!
Seniors Ky Hoskinson and Brynn McManus have been named Oregon Player of the Year for baseball and softball respectively. The dual recognition is the first time in Mac High’s history (and possibly the state’s) that a boy and girl from the same school in the OSAA’s top league earned the honor in the same season.
Ky, a pitcher/shortstop, was 10-0 for the season and pitched a perfect game against Newberg in regular season play. He will play for Cal State Bakersfield next year.
Brynn, shortstop, led the Grizzlies to 24-5 overall record and broke the school’s home run record with 18, just three shy of the all-time state record. She plans to play for Liberty University.
“Kids Do Well When They Can”
The philosophy of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) focuses on developing skills for better behavior, not a system of punishment and reward.
CPS is used in MSD classrooms and now parents have an opportunity for free training via The Child Center. Click for more information and upcoming training dates.
Summer School
Does your high school student need to recover any credits? Any student in grades 9-12 who earned an F or D in a core content course (math, language arts, social studies, and science) can attend summer school and get back on track!
