Please join us in congratulating Rhonda Perez, our Endeavor Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Perez teaches Science and is known for bringing energy, curiosity, and hands-on learning into her classroom every day. She challenges students to think critically, ask questions, and explore the world around them through scientific discovery. Her dedication to student success and her ability to make complex concepts engaging and meaningful have made a lasting impact on both her students and colleagues.
We are proud to recognize Mrs. Perez for her commitment to excellence and the positive difference she makes on our campus.
Career Day
Career Day Connects Students with Real-World Opportunities
Our campus recently hosted an exciting and informative Career Day, giving students a firsthand look at the many paths available after high school. Thanks to the hard work of Mrs. Jackson from the CTE department, 19 guest speakers from a wide range of industries visited our campus to share their experiences and insights with students.
Throughout the day, students rotated in small groups to meet with each presenter, allowing for more personal conversations and meaningful questions about different careers. The speakers represented a variety of fields, helping students explore job opportunities, training programs, and educational pathways they may pursue after graduation.
Thank you to representatives from Acadian Ambulance, Makeup by Jocy Studio, Freightliner, Houston Public Library, PPP Strategies, LLC, Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office, Bayou Preservation Association, Sheldon Lake State Park and Environmental Learning Center, US Navy, Comerica Bank, All Star Kids Family Dental, Matchmakers Real Estate Group by JLA Realty, Northwest Educational Center, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Harris County, and Grover Rogers- HVAC technician.
To show our appreciation, the presenters were treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Mr. Garza and members of the Culinary Club. Their efforts helped make the day even more special for our guests. Career Day was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn directly from professionals and begin thinking about the many possibilities that await them beyond high school. We are grateful to all of the speakers, staff, and students who helped make the event such a success.

Fruit & Vegetable Planting at Endeavor!
This week students at Endeavor had the opportunity to plant fruit and vegetable seeds in our garden beds! They learned how to plant and care for these seeds, explored the different parts of a plant, and brainstormed how to protect their crops from creatures who may try to snack on them.
Throughout the rest of the school year, students will be able to care for this garden, watch it grow, and hopefully be able to harvest some produce by summer! This hands-on experience sparked amazing questions, and they are excited to see our garden flourish. Our goal is to invite a professional gardener to speak to them about planting, provide advice for our plants, and serve as a career mentor opportunity for students.
In other news, our pocket prairie is almost ready for planting! This week, the ground was prepared and edging was installed for our planting project next week. Both Project Green students and Mrs. Perez’ science classes are excited to see the bare soil transformed into a thriving habitat for birds and butterflies. It is incredible to see how much these students have learned about conservation, and how much they are looking forward to making Endeavor a little more beautiful.
Did You Know?
Many vegetables, like lettuce and spinach, can regrow after being harvested once, just cut the leaves and let them sprout again!
Native prairie plants have deep root systems (sometimes over 10 feet long!) that help prevent erosion and filter rainwater.
Pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are responsible for helping produce about one out of every three bites of food we eat!

ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
Ask Mrs. Jackson or Mrs. Salinas for more information.
