Gifted Education Updates at CTE

Hello Families of Gifted Learners!

Welcome to the 25-26 School Year! I hope you all had a wonderful summer. I look forward to hearing about the students' summer adventures. This summer, I spent lots of time with my family at the pool (both of my kids are on the swim team!), and we traveled to visit family in Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!). We also recently welcomed a GoldenDoodle puppy into our family (Teddy), and he is keeping us very busy!

This year, I will be working with students in small groups, to support their affective goals (Mrs. Dunker has shifted roles at CTE, and will no longer be directly supporting GT students). I will also continue to collaborate, coach, and co-teach with our GT cluster teachers, to support students' academic goals within their classrooms. Like last year, I am also serving as the DCSD Chaparral Feeder Lead for Gifted Education - it's such a wonderful opportunity to lead and collaborate with Gifted Ed professionals across the Chap Feeder.

I'm SO excited for the 25-26 school year to begin!

At CTE, we use the Depth & Complexity Framework across our school. Our GT students will use this framework not only in their classrooms to support their academic goals, but also when working with with Mrs. Jakubowski (K-5th grade) or Mrs. Steiner (6th grade), to support their affective goals. Ask your students to tell you more about the icons and challenge them to use them at home too!
