Peterson's Message- K3 Director

Greetings MCP3 Team!

What a wonderful month we have all had celebrating, honoring, and learning about black history with our scholars, families, and each other! Shout out to everyone for your contributions, preparation, and thoughtful planning that went into making it such a success for everyone involved. This year we worked hard to ensure we included all stakeholders (scholars, staff, and families) and used the staff black history feedback survey to guide our activities and celebrations. I believe that we created meaningful experiences and lasting memories for all!

Shout out to the Bulldogs for winning the bulletin board challenge! All of the bulletin boards were incredible and look AMAZING in our hallway! Well done team! Ms. Perine will connect with the Bulldogs to coordinate their ice cream and movie party!

Shout out to everyone for their creative family night activities! Elephants spent time together studying Mae Jemison and building rocket ships! Gators created traffic lights to honor Garrett Morgan! Bulldogs spent time painting like Alma Thomas! Tigers enjoyed playing table top "ice hockey" to honor Laila Edwards who made history this month as the first black woman to play for the USA team AND scoring a goal for the USA- the GOLD-medal winning team! Golden Eagles learned about Paul R. Williams and did LEGO painting to be an architect like him! There were so many more incredible activities and inspiring black figures that were also available throughout each class! Way to go TEAM!!!

Here are some important happenings and reminders:

What is a chair?

A chair is a piece of furniture designed for a person to sit on. Please, do NOT sit on other furniture in our classrooms that is NOT designed for sitting on such as tables and shelves. This is a safety measure for all of us. Let's work together to ensure we ar emeeting our expectation of "Be Safe" and choose a chair when we sit. If you see me sit on the edge of the table (which I often do.....)- be sure to hold me accountable and give me friendly reminder!

New Student Open Enrollment

Open enrollment closed on 2/28/26. Ms. Perine will finalize the enrollment numbers this week and we will announce if we have a winner for the pizza party (100% enrolled for 26-27) and any homerooms with 90% enrollment to be entered to win a SPA Gift Card.

Message from Courtney @ RANG

Happy Friday and congratulations on wrapping up your first month on Rang! Your participation and engagement so far have been incredible to see.

Competition Results As you know, we’ve been running an activation competition across the network. The prizes are a $100 class party for the top Advisory at each campus and a $100 gift card for the Campus Champion with the highest overall activation, using goal acceptance as a tie-breaker!

Huge shoutouts to our winners:

  • MCP3: Reached 100% activation! Huge shoutout to Cassandra and Allison for their big push! This is the FIRST TIME EVER one of our campuses has reached 100% activation and to celebrate we will sponsor a party for all of your students!

DSHA Volunteers at MCP3

We will have 4 DSHA students "Dashers" supporting MCP3 from 3/2-3/12. This is a part of their senior vocare (Latin-to call forth) program. This 2-week service immersion calls students to meaningful experiences with our community and helps them understand their God-given talents so they can accept their gospel call to be women who can make a difference in the world.

The DASHERS will be assigned to support in a specific classroom.
