We want to extend our warmest (or coolest?) welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year! Clover LEAF is excited to begin another fruitful year of serving our ever-growing Clover School District students and staff. We enjoyed kicking off the school year at the Back to School Bash. There are many new faces, and we'd like to take a minute to reintroduce ourselves!

In 1986, Clover business and civic leaders formed a private non-profit foundation to aid public education in the Clover School District. As stated in the announcement of the founding: “The Foundation, known as the Clover Leaders for Educational Advancement Foundation, or Clover LEAF, will exist for the sole purpose of providing recognition for teachers in the form of small grants which will reward creativity and innovation in the classroom and self-improvement in teaching skills.” It was conceived with “… the shared belief that good schools produce good citizens, that effective teachers deserve community-wide recognition for their efforts, that good schools lead to growth in the community, that recognizing excellence in teaching is a partnership effort involving the entire community, and that educational commitment is a major priority in Clover.”

Today, Clover LEAF continues as an educational non-profit foundation supporting the Clover School District’s (CSD) innovative and imaginative educational programs through the Foundation’s grant program. The Foundation’s mission revolves around these grants, which empower educators to bring creativity and innovation into the classroom through new teaching methodologies, acquisition of cutting-edge resources, and development of inventive curricula that engage and inspire students in ways previously unattainable. These grants enrich the educational experience for students in the CSD by fostering an environment where learning becomes an exciting, dynamic, and transformative journey, preparing students to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Projects are one year in duration, but the goal is for projects to develop the momentum to sustain themselves. This past year, 17 grants totaling $15,000 were awarded by the Foundation. We are excited to kick off another grant season and continue supporting our fantastic school district.

As we look to the fall, we are gearing up for a busy season full of opportunity. From Clover Cuisine to our second annual Gala (which sold out last year!), we have many ways to become involved in our fantastic organization. Welcome to Clover LEAF- we are glad you are here!

Clover LEAF was so honored to be recognized by the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) with the Champions for Public Education Award. Clover LEAF received the award in recognition of its support of the Clover School District, including teacher innovation grants, the Back-to-School Bash and food baskets to feed CSD students during spring break. We are proud of these contributions and look forward to more opportunities to serve our students and staff.

On April 25th, we enjoyed a night of delicious Cajun food and the sounds of New Orleans at our annual Clover Cuisine event. This event, hosted at Clover High School, showcases our skilled culinary and Jazz ensemble students. We're thankful for Chef Scott Michaw for creating a delicious menu, and to the many community members who attended. Proceeds from Clover Cuisine benefit our teacher grants program and our mission of supporting the Clover School District in achieving and aintaining educational excellence.

Classroom Central Classroom Central

Clover LEAF is excited to partner with the Clover School District Teacher Forum to host Classroom Central. Beginning teachers have the opportunity to "shop" donated supplies and materials to decorate their classrooms and acquire much-needed equipment. Members of the Clover Air Force Junior ROTC volunteered their time to organize supplies in the closet, and we thank them for their service! Clover LEAF looks forward to welcoming new CSD staff members to our supportive and caring community.

Clover LEAF was delighted to visit Rideability Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. this summer to present a check in support of Clover School District students who participate in programs at the center. Special needs students from CSD benefit from RideAbility's equine-assisted therapy programming and participate in workplace education as they pursue an occupational credential. Clover LEAF appreciates this partnership and honors the indelible impact this programming has on CSD students.
