CELC Weekly Updates
Happy Sunday CELC families! Fall is in the air! The staff is looking forward to our fifth full week of hybrid learning. We are gearing up for dress up days, the modified CELC Halloween Parade, and Candy for Cubs. We look forward to a little extra fun this week. I love seeing the students dressed up in their costumes. We will be sure to take pictures! Please review the updates and reminders below to help keep you informed about what is happening on campus and in the district:
EAK registration is open for students turning 5 between 12/2 and 1/31. Call the office for more information.
- The district continues to serve food during Hybird Learning on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm to AUSD families in need at JMMS.
- CELC will begin piloting a free snack distribution for all CELC students and siblings. Parents can pick up 5 days worth of snacks for children 18 and under. This will be absolutely free to everyone! AUSD's Child Nutrition Department will be here at pick up times on Monday afternoons for Hybrid A families, and on Thursday afternoons for Hybrid B students. Look for them when you pick up your student. Grab your student and a bag of snacks :)
- Cafeteria breakfast and lunch meals are available to students. Please call the office for more information.
This week is Black Week. Kindergarteners will be doing “black” themed activities. Students have already learned brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink.
Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!
Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, October 30th, is Holiday Spirit Day! Wear your favorite holiday shirt or costume. Post pictures using #virtualfunfriday.
Mark your calendars- Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up in November. Teachers will be posting a sign up sheet for times the week of November 16-20. Students will be getting out of school at an earlier time than usual. Please see schedule below.
- HALLOWEEN- Hybrid A students will be able to dress up on Tuesday, October 27 and Hybrid B students will be able to dress up on Friday, October 30. All costumes must be school appropriate (no crop tops, weapons, blood…) If you have any questions, please ask your teacher for guidance. The staff is also planning a modified costume parade for each hybrid group. Unfortunately, parents will not be able to attend this year. We promise to take a lot of pictures!
- Candy for Cubs Event October 30. We would appreciate candy donations if you are available. Please drop off at your child's classroom. See flyer below.
The tables in the lunch area are not open for parents. We work very hard to keep them sanitized. If someone sits there, it has to be sanitized again.
- The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
The office is currently closed from 8:30 am to 9:10 am and 1:20 pm to 2:00 pm. The staff is being utilized at those times to support student drop off and pick up.
- Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
If you haven’t already, please pack an extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack. It is great to have a change of clothes on hand for potty accidents.
We are looking forward to a festive and fun week. I won't have difficulty finding clothes to wear for this week's color. However, I could use it as an excuse to buy something new. Don’t forget to wear college gear tomorrow and share a picture of your favorite holiday shirt or costume on Friday.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ripke

Parent/Teacher Conference Week Schedule
All start times and gates for entry/exit remain the same. Please make note of the earlier pick up times during conference week. As always, for everyone’s safety, please do not enter the campus early. As a reminder, families must practice social distancing and wear masks. Please drop off/pick up quickly and leave campus. We have had to remind a few adults multiple times to stay off the lunch tables. We apologize for our constant reminders but PLEASE follow the rules for the safety of our campus, so we can remain open and allow parents to help with drop off and pick up. Thank you to the mass majority who are supporting our policies and procedures. We appreciate your support and your kind words.
