Happy new year Winter Hill,

Our first week of 2026 went very well - students returned refreshed and ready to learn! The weather cooperated most of the week and the warm temperatures on Thursday and Friday were quite a January treat. Please see below for two curriculum workshops for parents and guardians.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Principal Gosselin

Respiratory Illness

With the onset of cold weather, we have been seeing an increase in influenza (“Flu”) as well as other viruses in our school community.

Flu, COVID-19 and many respiratory viruses have similar symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches, chills, runny nose, fatigue.

If your child has fever and any of the above symptoms, please keep them home, both for their comfort and to prevent the spread of illness to others. They can return once they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications. Here is a useful link for more information about flu: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/what-should-i-know-about-flu.

And about respiratory viruses in general:

Frequent handwashing and vaccination are two of the best ways to reduce the risk of flu and other viruses.

The city of Somerville is offering free flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics for all ages. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged :
