Hello Walnut Families,

It is Staff Appreciation Week at Walnut Avenue Elementary, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible staff who make our school such a special place for students each and every day. Our teachers and staff work tirelessly to support, encourage, and inspire our Wolves. From early mornings preparing lessons to staying late to ensure every student succeeds, their dedication to our children does not go unnoticed. This week we have planned several fun activities to show our appreciation for our amazing staff. Families are welcome to participate in any way they would like. Participation is not mandatory, but always appreciated. Whether it is a kind note, a small gesture, or words of encouragement, our staff truly value all forms of appreciation.

Disney Week 🎇🫧

Since our celebration has a Disney theme, students are also encouraged to join the fun by wearing their favorite Disney attire throughout the week. Our school is truly magical because of the wonderful people who make up our Walnut community!

Open House is This Tuesday!

We are excited to welcome our Walnut families to Open House this Tuesday. Classroom doors will open at 6:00 PM, and we encourage you to join us to see all of the wonderful learning and hard work our students have been doing throughout the year. This is a special opportunity for students to proudly share their projects, classroom activities, and accomplishments with their families.

Please note: TK will have special hours, so be sure to review the flyer below for those details.

We look forward to seeing our Walnut families there and celebrating our students’ amazing work together!

State Testing Update – Our Students Are Rocking It! 🎉
Thank you, parents, for helping our Wolves arrive at school on time and ready to do their best. Your support makes a huge difference. We are entering the final stretch of testing, and our students have been working incredibly hard. We are so proud of their effort and perseverance.

PFA Elections
We will be sending out information this week for parents to vote in our upcoming PFA elections. Thank you to the parents and families who continue to support our school and help make Walnut successful for all students.

Soccer ⚽
Our soccer team did a fabulous job competing last week. We are proud of their hard work, teamwork, and determination on the field. A special thank you to Ms. Bell, Ms. Ramirez, and Mr. Perry for dedicating their time to coaching our players and helping them learn the game while building confidence and sportsmanship.

Orchestra at Ayala High School 🎶
Our school orchestra recently performed at Ayala High School, and they did an outstanding job. Their musical talent and dedication were truly impressive, and we are incredibly proud of our students for representing Walnut so well.

As We Step Into May…
We are asking parents to sign up to assist with Field Day, which is a long-standing tradition at Walnut. Our committee will reach out with specific activities that volunteers can help run once you sign up. We truly appreciate the support of our families in making this event fun and memorable for our students.

We would also like to take a moment to recognize our amazing cafeteria heroes, Ms. Adriana and Ms. Gina. They do an excellent job feeding and caring for our students each day, and we are grateful for the kindness and dedication they bring to our campus.
