A message from the principal
Greetings Wilson Families,
Welcome to November! The school year is officially in full stride, and we are loving every moment with your students. One of the many highlights of our work at Wilson is connecting with you. Our school community is at its strongest when families and staff connect and collaborate. Whether you are popping in for a meeting, cheering on your student, or partnering with us during conferences, please know how deeply valued you are here.
We have a fantastic lineup of November events that bring us together. We hope to see your family at one, or all!, of these upcoming occasions:
November PTCO Meeting (Thursday, Nov 5 | 6:00–7:30 PM in the Library): Join us to share your ideas on how we can continue making Wilson the best place to learn and grow! Childcare is provided.
Thank you for sharing your students with us and for being such active partners in our school community. We can't wait to see you around Wilson this month!
Sincerely,
Nicki Magaard

STUDENT MORNING DROP OFF REMINDERS
We are working hard to keep our morning drop off line moving quickly and safely for all families and students. If you drop your student off in the morning, please review the reminders below:
- Do not park in the drop off line, this line is for drop and go only.
All adults must remain in the car during drop off. If you would like a longer goodbye with your child, please feel free to park in the lot or at Sunny Acres and walk them over to the door.
Make sure that your child exits your car on the side closest to the building/sidewalk.
Student drop off time is 9:10 for students who eat breakfast & they will be allowed into the cafeteria to eat at that time.
Student drop off time is 9:20 if they are NOT having breakfast here.
Follow directions of staff directing traffic for everyone's safety.
STUDENT AFTERNOON PICK UP REMINDERS
Parents and guardians, for the safety of our students and patrols, please review our dismissal map below. PLEASE NOTE - there is NO parking on Sunny Lane. To pick up students, please drive through the parent pick up line (option #1) or park at Sunny Acres and walk to pick up your student (option #2). Parent pick up students will remain by door #2 until picked up by a parent/guardian. Thank you for keeping our students safe!
RULES OF THE ROAD Please familiarize yourself with the electronic-assisted bicycle & motorized foot scooter requirements to keep our students & staff safe at arrival and dismissal times.
Cellphone policy
There are no cellphones or smart watches allowed at Wilson during the school day (9:10-4:00).
We understand that some families may want their student to have a cellphone or smart watch for before or after school. These devices are a distraction to student learning. If a student has a cellphone or smart watch, they will be required to turn it in to the main office for safekeeping during the school day. They will be able to pick it up at the end of the day.

Introducing: One Book, One School
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming schoolwide reading initiative! Starting in November, our entire school community—students, staff, and families—will be reading the book Big Foot and Little Foot by Ellen Potter.
Click here for additional information about this amazing experience for all our learners and families.
Attendance information
Student absences can be reported via the Web (you will need to know your parent account information) or via the ParentVUE Mobile App.
You will still be able to contact the attendance line at 763-506-4706 to report an absence 24/7.
Every day that your student will be late or absent, you must enter attendance online or call the attendance line in order to have your students' absence counted as excused. Please DO NOT email your child's teacher with attendance information.

Parenting education and family resources
Did you know?
Challenging situations for your child may turn into challenging situations for you, as the parent! Remember - when you can regulate your emotions, you’re showing your child how to manage their emotions too!
Try these tips to handle tough situations:
Validate your child’s feelings - all emotions are okay, but not all reactions are!
Think about what may trigger you or your child.
Don’t be afraid to take a break if you need a moment before re-engaging.
