We had an AMAZING first 2 days back at school! It was so wonderful to see the classrooms filled with students and hear the sounds of excited chatter in the hallways! It sounds like everyone enjoyed their summer!

We spent our first couple of days making new friends, reintroducing ourselves to old ones, finding our classrooms, and familiarizing ourselves with lunch room/recess expectations as well as enjoying a wonderful all school assembly where we unveiled our new theme for the year "The Heart of the Panther"! We are so excited for students to show us all the ways they have "the heart of the Panther" this year!

I hope you enjoy the weekend and are ready for a full week of school next week.

Ellie Chin

Welcome to Patton!

CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES (NEW POST FROM DISTRICT 25) CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES (NEW POST FROM DISTRICT 25)

As we begin the new school year, we want to remind families of our expectations regarding cell phones and other electronic devices at school, including wearables. These expectations are designed to help students stay focused on learning, minimize distractions, and support a positive school environment.

  • Middle school students are expected to turn off electronics and store devices in their middle school locker during the school day.

  • Elementary students are expected to leave electronics in the “off” position and in their backpacks throughout the school day.

  • A supervising teacher may grant permission for them to be used or if needed during an emergency.

  • They may not be used in any manner that will cause disruption to the educational environment or will otherwise violate student conduct rules.

The District will provide access to students who do not own a mobile learning device in circumstances when its use is required for instructional purposes during the day. Electronic devices may be used during the school day if:

  • Use of the device is provided in the student’s IEP, or

  • Permission is received from the student’s teacher with administrator approval

We appreciate your partnership in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. Please take a moment to review the flyer to the right, along with the full policy in the Parent/Student Handbook.

My name is Ashley Campos, and I am so excited to join the Patton community as your new Assistant Principal!

This year marks my 15th year in education, and throughout my career, I have been fortunate to wear many different hats. I have taught students from PreK through 8th grade in general education, bilingual education, and dual language settings. Most recently, I served as a Multilingual Specialist in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

I live in Hawthorn Woods with my husband, Antonio, and our three children: Annalise (7), Adelaide (5), and Abraham (5 months). We are a bilingual family and speak both English and Spanish at home. As a family, we love to travel, and we spend much of our summers in Mexico visiting my husband’s extended family.

A fun fact about me is that I attended six different elementary schools growing up!

I am truly excited to be at Patton and look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff. Here’s to a wonderful year together!

Hi! I'm Katie. I have a background in Nursing for 11 years, and 4 years in Early Childhood Education. I grew up in the area, and recently moved to Arlington Heights for my son to attend a school in District 25. He will be starting Kindergarten at Ivy Hill this fall. I am excited to join the Patton Panthers team, to help provide a loving and nurturing environment for all the students to grow, learn and succeed. A few fun facts about me are that I love sports and being outdoors. Reading, photography, and cooking are some of my hobbies.

THANK YOU to our amazing PTA who provided "first day fuel" for us in the form of hot and cold (and, most importantly, caffeinated!!) beverages!!

Gestures like this are always hugely appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for helping us kick off our year in the right way.

We’re excited to share that we collected brand-new and gently used gym shoes in a variety of sizes to keep in the PE office! This allows students who come to PE without appropriate footwear to safely participate.

We also have new socks available for use when students borrow PE shoes. Please wash and return the socks to the PE office so they are available for others. Students are also welcome to keep an extra pair of socks in their backpack for PE.

For health and safety, shoes will be sanitized after each use.

If you prefer that your child not borrow PE shoes, please contact Mrs. Rabinowitz to let us know.

Thank you for helping us keep PE safe, healthy, and inclusive for everyone!

Welcome back Patton Families! We on the traffic team are looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

We are so lucky to have wonderful parent, grandparent and caregiver volunteers come to help ensure these times of the day run smoothly and safely. This year, we are in need of some extra help! Do you (or a caregiver or a grandparent...) have a bit of spare time before or after school? Do you want to be one of the first friendly faces our Patton Panthers see when they arrive at school or the last high five they get at the end of the school day? If so, we would love for you to consider volunteering to help us get our Panthers in and out of cars! We welcome people who are able to give any amount of time - morning only, afternoon only, one day a week, or even just once-in-a-while as a substitute! We would be so grateful for your help!

Being part of the traffic team is a great way to feel like part of the amazing Patton community and is also a great way to meet other parents!

If you are considering volunteering, but aren't quite ready to make a commitment, you can shadow a traffic volunteer one day and see what it's like. We have wonderful kids who smile at you, say thank you, and are excited to tell you about their day. (Great job, parents!)

If you're ready to help, complete this google form to express your interest. Thank you!

Reach out with any questions to pattontrafficteam@gmail.com and we can help.

Thanks,

Chris and Tracy

UPCOMING SAFETY DRILLS (2nd POST!) UPCOMING SAFETY DRILLS (2nd POST!)

We have scheduled each of our Safety Drills for the fall. Teachers will explain the reason for each safety drill and the procedures that should be followed to their students. We practice early in the school year so students know what to do in the event of an emergency. Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles at Patton during these dates as the Arlington Heights Police Department will join us for the Lockdown Drill and the Arlington Heights Fire Department will be present for one of our Evacuate drills.

TOYS - PLEASE KEEP THEM SAFE AND SOUND AT HOME (Final Post) TOYS - PLEASE KEEP THEM SAFE AND SOUND AT HOME (Final Post)

Please ensure all toys remain at home this year. We provide equipment for students to use at recess whether it is outdoor recess or indoor recess. We ask that anything that is not part of their school supplies remains at home so they are not lost or damaged. Please note that we are also referring to squishies, NeeDohs, dumplings, etc.

If there is a special class celebration, the teacher will notify students and parents that they can bring in something for the special event. For example, your child's class may have a pajama or fort day where students are able to bring in a stuffed animal. On these occasions they are welcome to bring in these items. Outside of special events all toys, including fidgets, should be left at home to avoid becoming a distraction in the classroom or being lost or damaged at school.

For any students who have an individualized plan to have access to fidgets at school, Patton staff will provide a fidget that supports their needs.
