Volume 4/Issue 32 - April 6th, 2025

Have you ever noticed how good it feels to just be right there? Like, really there, in whatever you're doing? It could be the warmth of the sun on your face, the sound of your favorite song, or the simple pleasure of a quiet cup of coffee. When we truly enjoy the moment, it's like we're giving ourselves permission to just be. All the to-dos and what-ifs can wait. It's about tuning into the good stuff happening right now, even if it seems small. This ability to savor the present can bring a surprising sense of peace and gratitude, making even ordinary moments feel a little bit special. It's like finding little sparks of joy all around you, just waiting to be noticed and appreciated.

✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨

Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!

This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.

Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!

When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Message for the Week: Message for the Week:

    Message from Mr. Tejkl

    Change is part of life...

    Good morning!

What a whirlwind of a month (and we are currently 6 days into it)! There are so many great things happening with our students and staff that it truly makes me proud to be part of SRC! Track is off and running/throwing, boys golf is swinging into action, FFA represented at State, Quiz Bowl continues to march on, and FBLA hits the road this week for their State Conference. Then we have field trips going on, learning opportunities being created, and the amount of PAWS (positive recognition) is AMAZING to see! Our students and staff continue to bring their best each day and it is truly appreciated!

As we gear up for April and head into May, our time is slowly coming to an end for the 24-25 school year. I encourage you to take the time and reflect on how far you have come since the beginning of August. The river that we first stepped into has changed and we ourselves have changed over time. Our landscape has a great foundation but the path that we take is different for all and the perspective can be different as well. Change is inevitable but change is a good thing. It means that we are improving and make strides to become who we are. I encourage you to enjoy it!

This quote teaches us that everything is always changing. Nothing stays the same forever. This can be a little bit mind-blowing, but it's also important to understand:

    • Embrace Change: Instead of being afraid of things changing, we can learn to accept it as a natural part of life.
    • Live in the Present: Since everything is constantly flowing, it's important to focus on the present moment and appreciate what we have now.
    • Growth is Constant: Just like the river, we are always growing and developing. Embrace learning and new experiences.
    • Every Experience is Unique: Because both we and the world around us are always changing, every experience we have is unique and valuable.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

"No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man."

    Heraclitus

    Sincerely,

    Tucker Tejkl
