Principal's Message
Skyview families,
As we conclude our first month of the school year, some trends are becoming apparent at Skyview. It is so encouraging to see our students demonstrating that they are capable of academic success when they try their best, and we are excited to see their growth as the year progresses.
However, we also have work to do to make our hallways and lunch spaces consistently safe and respectful. We want passing time and lunch to provide opportunities for students to connect with their friends. At the same time, students must use school-appropriate language, follow adult directions, and make choices that allow everyone to feel safe.
Each grade level has a particular expectation we are reinforcing:
Grade 6: Keep hands to ourselves.
Grade 7: Respond respectfully and promptly when an adult provides a reminder.
Grade 8: Use the one-minute bell as the signal to move directly to class.
Parents, can you support us at home by helping remind your student of these expectations? It will go a long way towards making sure our hallways feel safe to all staff and students during each passing period.
Keep reading for important information regarding ordering school pictures as well as opportunities at our neighbors down the street, the Washington County Library.
Please reach out anytime with any questions.
