Reflecting on an Action-Packed April + A Sneak Peek at What’s Blooming in May!

As the weather warmed up, so did our calendar—April was an unforgettable month filled with exploration, creativity, and good old-fashioned fun! Our students were active, inspired, and constantly engaged thanks to an exciting lineup of activities. Whether we were running across the field, peering into the cosmos, or diving into the pool, there was never a dull moment at CVYC.

Let’s take a look back at all the memories we made together last month!

🌟 APRIL RECAP: A Month of Adventure and Celebration

April 4th – Field Day, Powered by Our High School Leaders
We kicked off the month with an incredible Field Day hosted by high school students working on their capstone projects. Their leadership truly shined as they planned and ran a fun-filled afternoon packed with friendly competition, laughter, and teamwork. From classic races and relays to creative new games, the energy on the field was contagious. We were proud to see our youth not only having fun but cheering one another on in the spirit of community.

April 11th – A Journey Beyond Earth at the Planetarium
Our next big adventure transported us to the stars! We traveled to the Planetarium at Adams State University for a galactic journey through space. Surrounded by the wonders of the universe, our students were in awe as they learned about constellations, planets, and the vastness of the cosmos. It was a powerful reminder of how big our universe is—and how much there is to discover.

April 18th – Easter Cheer and Egg-citing Fun
Spring joy was in full swing during our Easter celebration! Students poured their creativity into decorating Easter eggs with vibrant colors and fun designs. The excitement continued as we scattered the beautifully decorated eggs for an epic Easter Egg Hunt. It was heartwarming to see kids racing across the yard with baskets in hand and huge smiles on their faces.

April 25th – Making a Splash at Hooper Pool
What better way to wrap up the month than with a splash? Our trip to Hooper Pool was a refreshing reward after a busy April. Students swam, played poolside games, and simply enjoyed being together. The sound of laughter echoed around the pool, and everyone left feeling a little more energized and a lot more connected.

🌼 Welcome, May – A Month to Celebrate, Create, and Prepare!

As we turn the page to May, we’re keeping the momentum going with hands-on learning, creative expression, and another dose of fun in the sun. This month also marks the transition into summer, and we’re gearing up for an exciting season ahead.

Here’s a look at what we’ve got planned:

May 2nd – A Magical Museum Adventure in Pueblo
We’re kicking off May with a field trip to the Buell Children’s Museum in Pueblo to visit their “Far Far Away” exhibit. This interactive experience is designed to spark the imagination and transport children into the world of fantasy and storytelling. From castles and dragons to fairy tale-inspired art, our youth will get the chance to learn through play, exploration, and creativity.

May 9th – Mother's Day Art Project Day
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we’re setting aside a special day for our students to create heartfelt gifts for the amazing women in their lives. Whether it’s a handmade card, a painted keepsake, or a crafted bouquet, students will pour love and thought into each project—ready just in time to celebrate on May 11th.

May 16th – Dive Back Into Fun at Hooper Pool
Because one swim day just isn’t enough! We’re heading back to Hooper Pool for more aquatic fun. This will be another chance for students to enjoy free play, practice their swim skills, and build confidence in the water in a safe and supervised environment.

May 23rd – CVYC Closes to Prepare for Summer Magic
Please note: CVYC will be closed from May 23rd through June 1st to give our hardworking staff the time and space to deep-clean, organize, and transform the club for summer programming. We can’t wait to welcome students back starting June 2nd for a whole new season of fun, learning, and growth!

Reflexionando sobre un Abril Inolvidable + ¡Un Adelanto de lo que Florece en Mayo!

Con la llegada de la primavera, nuestro club se llenó de emoción y energía. Abril estuvo repleto de actividades creativas, educativas y muy divertidas. Cada semana fue una nueva aventura que trajo sonrisas, aprendizajes y recuerdos para toda la vida.

🌟 RESUMEN DE ABRIL: Aventura, Diversión y Celebración

4 de abril – Día de Campo con Nuestros Líderes de Preparatoria
Comenzamos el mes con un Día de Campo espectacular, organizado por los estudiantes de preparatoria como parte de sus proyectos finales. Ellos planearon una tarde llena de juegos, competencias amistosas y mucho trabajo en equipo. Fue inspirador ver cómo nuestros jóvenes se animaban unos a otros, compartiendo risas y energía positiva.

11 de abril – Una Aventura Espacial en el Planetario
Nuestro segundo evento nos llevó más allá del cielo: ¡al universo! Visitamos el Planetario de la Universidad Estatal de Adams, donde los estudiantes exploraron el espacio, las estrellas y los planetas. Fue una experiencia impresionante que despertó la curiosidad de todos y nos recordó cuán grande es nuestro universo.

18 de abril – Fiesta de Pascua y Búsqueda de Huevitos
El espíritu de la Pascua llenó el club con colores brillantes y creatividad. Decoramos huevos de Pascua con mucho entusiasmo y después realizamos una emocionante búsqueda. Ver a los estudiantes correr con sus canastas y reírse juntos fue, sin duda, un momento para recordar.

25 de abril – Diversión Acuática en la Piscina Hooper
Terminamos el mes con un buen chapuzón. Nuestro viaje a la piscina de Hooper fue la oportunidad perfecta para relajarse, jugar en el agua y compartir un rato alegre entre amigos. ¡Una excelente forma de cerrar abril!

🌼 ¡Bienvenido Mayo – Un Mes para Celebrar, Crear y Prepararse!

Mayo llega con nuevas aventuras, momentos para expresar creatividad y tiempo para prepararnos para el verano. Tenemos actividades emocionantes planeadas antes de tomar una pequeña pausa para prepararnos para lo que viene.

Aquí te contamos lo que sucederá este mes:

2 de mayo – Aventura Mágica en el Museo Infantil de Pueblo
Comenzamos el mes con una visita al Museo Infantil Buell para explorar la exhibición “Far Far Away”. Esta experiencia interactiva invita a los niños a usar su imaginación y a sumergirse en un mundo de cuentos de hadas, castillos y criaturas fantásticas. ¡Aprenderemos jugando y soñando!

9 de mayo – Proyecto de Arte para el Día de las Madres
Con el Día de las Madres cerca, dedicaremos un día especial para que nuestros estudiantes elaboren regalos con mucho cariño. Ya sea una tarjeta decorada, una manualidad colorida o un detalle especial, cada proyecto estará lleno de amor—¡justo a tiempo para el 11 de mayo!

16 de mayo – ¡Volvemos a la Piscina Hooper!
Porque una vez no fue suficiente… ¡regresamos a nadar! Disfrutaremos de otro día de juegos acuáticos, convivencia y mucha diversión bajo el sol.

23 de mayo – Cierre Temporal para Preparar el Verano
Nota importante: El club CVYC cerrará del 23 de mayo al 1 de junio para que nuestro equipo tenga tiempo de limpiar, organizar y preparar todo para el emocionante programa de verano que inicia el 2 de junio. ¡Nos vemos pronto con nuevas aventuras!
