Riverbend Families,
As we head towards the end of trimester 2, I wanted to take a moment and talk about one of the celebrations that we share with our students. At the end of each trimester, all staff members nominate a student who demonstrates the necessary traits that align with our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience. This month, we will be recognizing students who have consistently exemplified our core value of Responsibility. At Riverbend, "Responsibility" can look like many things. Being responsible could mean that a student consistently completes assignments, actively participates in class, cleans up after themself in the cafeteria, or shows kindness to another individual. What I like most about these recognitions is that it can shine the spotlight on students who may not typically put themselves out there to be noticed. It’s an opportunity for us, as educators, to take the time to be observant of our students and to show them that we do see them when they care enough to do the little things. It is something I look forward to after each trimester and I think this is such a valuable component to the relationship building process.
Speaking of the end of the trimester, we only have 13 days left in trimester 2. Please encourage your student to stay engaged and to finish strong. If they are struggling, please remind them that they always have time during Tribe to seek out help from their teachers. If you have questions about your student’s progress in a class, please reach out to that teacher directly for more information.
We are looking forward to starting trimester 3 very soon. Have a great February!

Feb. 4th: 7th and 8th grade students will attend the Body Safety Program hosted by Children's Advocacy Center.
Opt Out Form can be signed and emailed/returned to Counselors by Feb. 4th.

If your student has already been signed up, you do not need to register again.
