A Note From Your Directors

Staley Band Families,

We officially made it through the first FULL week of school and the students handled it so well! We are settling into a normal routine with our advanced bands playing every day and we are diving deep into learning in our beginning band classes.

ALL Band students: A few things for note for this week: Spirit night and Meet the Teacher on Thursday, Sectionals begin for AB this week, all paperwork should be in by this point except for Form 5. All Form 5's will be handed out this week and should be returned promptly. These are for school owned instruments only. If you have not already contacted Ms. Hoffman about enrolling in lessons then please do so soon! More information is below.

Beginning Band: Please ensure you have obtained all of the required supplies including an instrument if you are renting. We are opening cases the week and we would hate for any student to fall behind. Please reach out ASAP if there is a concern.

Advanced Band: Sectionals begin this week! Please see the schedule below. Sectionals are a required portion of the students success and grade every week. All students should be practicing their pep tunes, and scales. Symphonic Band members should be practicing their All Region music. If there are any Honor Band students interested in auditioning for All Region their should contact Ms. Hoffman.

Private Lessons

  • Lessons play a vital role in the individual students success in band! Lesson are for the students who might be a little behind, and even for those who are excelling and would like an added enriching challenge.

  • By visiting www.staleyband.org/lessons you will be taken to our web page to enroll in lessons.
  • Once the form is completed, Ms. Hoffman will match you with the appropriate private instructor. Each private instructor is officially background checked with FISD.

We are currently waiting to hear back from flute, horn, and clarinet instructors.
