Message from Mrs. Vandiver and Mrs. Menteer

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope that your family is settling into the new school year smoothly. It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and we want to take a moment to recap our first two weeks and provide some important updates on pickup procedures and times.

Highlights from the First Two Weeks:

  • Our students have quickly adapted to their new classrooms, and it's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm for learning.

  • The new curriculum is already sparking creativity and curiosity in our classrooms. We’re excited about the projects and activities our students will be engaged in this year.

  • Our staff has been working diligently to ensure a smooth start, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during this busy time.

Back to School Bash Recap:

We had an absolutely fantastic Back to School Bash, and it was a joy to see so many familiar faces and welcome new families to our school community. The event was filled with fun activities, delicious food, and plenty of opportunities for everyone to mingle and get to know each other. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made the event a success! Your support truly helps make our school a vibrant and engaging place for our students.

Upcoming Event- Color Run on September 19th:

We’re excited to announce our upcoming Color Run on September 19th! This event promises to be a colorful and energetic day filled with fun for the whole family. It’s a great way to promote fitness and school spirit while supporting our programs.

  • Date: September 19th

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • Location: Engler Park

Please encourage your child to participate and consider joining in the fun as well. Let’s make this a memorable event for everyone!

Important Reminders:

  • Transportation Changes: If you need to change your child’s after school transportation, please call the office to notify them before 2:00 PM.

  • AM Carline Drop Off: The drop off line starts at 7:15 and ends at 7:50. Please remember to enter the carline from Westwood Dr. to avoid backups in traffic and cutting off other parents in line. If your student arrives after 7:50 an adult will need to walk them into school. Students who arrive after 7:55 will need to be signed in at the front office and a tardy will occur.

  • AM Walkups: For safety reasons, please do not let your students walk across the crosswalk alone. Please park on Summit St. and walk your student up the grassy area and across the carlines. It is too dangerous for students to cross through two lanes of traffic unsupervised.

  • PM Walkup and Carline Pickup: The PM walkup line is from 3:00-3:05. Anyone arriving after 3:05 will need to pick up their student through the carline or at the front office. Both pickup locations will require a photo ID and a Kid Account card to pick up a child. Please make sure to have your ID ready, even if the staff member knows you, to make the pickup process flow smoothly. The person picking up the child and showing their ID must be listed as a member of the household or emergency contact in Infinite Campus. You may update these contacts in your Infinite Campus app.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we kick off this school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school office.

Looking forward to a wonderful year ahead and seeing you at the Color Run!

Warm regards,

Crystal Vandiver

All about Attendance All about Attendance

* EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS!!!

*Being late for school hurt's a child's learning. A student who is 10 minutes late every day will miss 30 hours of instruction during the year.

* The tardy bell at Jefferson rings at 7:55 am. If you are bringing your student in after 7:55 am please make sure you are walking them into the office and signing them in late.

* If your student leaves early or comes in late, even just 5 minutes, that counts against their attendance for the day.

* If your student is absent from school it is very important that you call the office and inform them of the absence and the reason they will not be at school that day.
