PRINCIPAL REPORT PRINCIPAL REPORT

I cannot believe we are at the end of the 2025–2026 school year. I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly memorable journey. This year presented its share of challenges, but through those challenges our school community demonstrated remarkable resilience, perseverance, and care for one another. Time and again, our students, staff, families, and community came together to support one another, adapt, and continue moving forward with optimism and determination.

Despite the obstacles we faced, there was no shortage of reasons to celebrate. Our students embraced opportunities to connect, lead, and build school spirit through the outstanding work of our SADD and SRC groups. The spirit weeks they organized brought energy, laughter, and a strong sense of belonging to our school. We also celebrated the addition of our new playground, which has enhanced our school grounds.

This year, like so many in the past, was also marked by incredible generosity and community support. Our fundraising efforts exceeded expectations. Equally exciting were the many new learning experiences that took place throughout the year. From innovative classroom projects to hands-on activities and special events, our students were challenged to think, create, collaborate, and grow in meaningful ways.

As we head into summer, I want to thank our students for their hard work, our staff for their dedication, and our families for their continued support and partnership. Together, we have accomplished so much and have much to be proud of. I wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall for another exciting year.

Macklin School Facelift

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jenny Loehndorf for all of her time, effort, and hard work in giving the outside area in front of Macklin School a much-needed facelift. This is one area we know has needed attention, and we are hopeful that, with future fundraising efforts, we will be able to continue improving it even more down the road.

From trimming trees to staining benches, Jenny’s efforts have made a noticeable difference and have certainly not gone unnoticed. Her dedication and willingness to take time out of her busy schedule to help improve our school grounds are truly appreciated. The refreshed space has already made the area more welcoming and enjoyable for students, staff, and visitors alike.

We would also like to thank Mrs. Cook and Nash for taking care of planting and watering the flower pots. Their care and attention added a beautiful finishing touch to the area.

We are very grateful to everyone who contributes their time and effort to helping enhance our school community.

Student Teachers in Grade Five

The Grade Five class was lucky to welcome two student teachers during the month of May. Miss Megan Sproule and Miss Taryn Ganser. Miss Ganser is in her final year of her degree and so she taught us about forces in science. We even did an egg drop experiment. Miss Sproule is finishing her second year and she helped us with many different assignments.

We loved having them both in our classroom and wish them the best of luck in their future teaching careers.

Sweet Support for our School Playground

Thank you so much to Remi, Milo and Teddy Reinbold for donating $110.00 from their lemonade stand to our Macklin School Playground fundraising. Something to be very proud of!

A NEW CHAPTER FOR OUR LIBRARY

Things look a little different in the library with the addition of brand-new shelving! This update has allowed for a reorganization of the space, with more flexible seating areas, creating a functional and welcoming environment. The refreshed layout encourages students to spend more time in the library, whether they are looking for resources, working on assignments, or simply enjoying a good book. We’re excited to see how students continue to use and enjoy the revitalized library space.
