Bellerive Bulletin
April 27, 2025
Dear Bellerive Families,
We have a busy and exciting week ahead with many events and activities! We’re looking forward to our upcoming music concerts and hope you can also join us at the City2 soccer game. If you or your family haven’t visited the new soccer stadium yet, City2 games are an affordable and fun way to experience it and enjoy some soccer action. Proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the PTO. The ordering information is below in this newsletter.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Walk to School Day on Friday — 282 students (plus many parents!) walked to school. What a great turnout! I appreciate Mr. Fink and Ms. Taylor for their hard work organizing the event.
We are also gearing up for MAP testing, which begins next week. Below in this newsletter, you will find more information about MAP testing and answers to frequently asked questions. It is especially important for students to be present on their scheduled testing days. Please avoid scheduling appointments, late arrivals, or early dismissals on the days your child is testing:
- 3rd Grade: Monday, May 5; Tuesday, May 6 & Friday, May 9
- 4th Grade: Wednesday, May 14, Thursday, May 15 & Friday, May 16
- 5th Grade: Thursday, May 8; Monday, May 12 & Tuesday, May 13
Thank you for your support!
Joey Kneer

MAP Testing Begins Next Week
At Bellerive Elementary between May 5 and May 16, students in grades 3-5 will participate in Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students in 5th grade will also participate in MAP Science testing. Information from the MAP gives students’ parents and teachers an important measure of each child’s learning. It also helps your child’s school make sure children are receiving a high-quality education.
Here is some information for you about this year’s testing:
How is the test set up?
As with many other assessments in Parkway, students take the MAP test on computers. Many students began taking online assessments in Parkway several years ago. Tests taken online often have more interactive and engaging test questions. To see the system students will use and example questions, please visit https://wbte.drcedirect.com/MO/portals/mo using the Google Chrome browser and click on the link at the bottom center of the page.
When will we receive results and how are they used?
Parents will receive individual student results for ELA and Math prior to the beginning of the following school year. Individual student scores are one piece of information to go along with all the other things teachers and parents know about each child. Overall results are used by your child’s school and district to identify areas of strength and need within Parkway’s curriculum and to make sure we are providing the best possible education for each child.
How can I help ensure my child is prepared to take the test?
The MAP tests address learning that has taken place throughout the year, so the most helpful things you can do as a parent are making sure your child is well-rested, well-nourished, and is present during testing times. Your child’s teacher(s) may also have specific test-taking tips or activities to assist students in feeling prepared.
Whom can I contact if I have questions?
Depending on your question, your child’s teacher, counselor, or principal may best be able to assist you. You may also feel free to contact Parkway’s assessment coordinator, Carter Snow, by e-mail (csnow@parkwayschools.net) or phone (314.415.7047).
