Z Car Club of Colorado
July 2026 Odometer
NATE’Z NOTEZ
Hello Z family, and welcome to the first day of summer, as I am writing this on June 21st, the summer equinox. It’s the longest day of the year, with the sun setting at 8:30 tonight. Not a lot of events to talk about for the month of June, but we did have two in-person events.
Our June general meeting at the Smoky Hill library was attended by 13 people. Tiffany and Judy brought an amazing cake to celebrate Don Gordon’s birthday, which happened to fall on the day of the meeting. The club also supplied sub sandwiches, chips, and water.
Our other event was the 46th annual Concours d’ Elegance. We had 9 Zs (one of them was not even a member of the club; he was just driving in, and Kathy had him park with us), but 8 members showed off their cars, and several members won 1st- or 2nd-place ribbons. Cheryle has a recap of this event in this edition of the Odometer.
The calendar has a few things going on starting on the 1st with our in-person meeting at Applebee’s,
Mark Ingles is hosting a drive and tour to “The Winery at Holy Cross at the Abbey,” and, of course, the big event is the first annual Colorado Z Fest in Cripple Creek, as well as the pre-fest drive hosted by Judy Gordon.
With 4 events on the calendar, hopefully, we will see you a couple of times this month. Until then,
“Keep the rubber side down, and the shiny side up”
Regardz,
Nate

Event RecapZ
Concours d'Elegance
By Cheryle Derman
It was a sizzling-hot day, but luckily, we all managed to find shade, huddled together under the tent.
We had 9 cars in attendance, with a potential new member parking with us. Sadly, one vehicle that had been registered caught fire, but the owner came anyway. It was a great turnout, considering the space allotted to us. We had lots of looky-loos and have hope of getting some new members.
Andy received a first-place ribbon for his 240 Z
Bruce received a first-place ribbon for his 300 ZX
Judy received a first-place ribbon for her 350 Z.
Kathy received a second-place ribbon for her 350 Z
Nate received a first-place ribbon and a show favorite ribbon for his 370 Z
Don received a second-place ribbon for his 370 Z
All club-judged cars were evaluated impartially based on a cleanliness list provided by Ability Connection, and no one judged their own car. It was a huge effort by participants to get their cars ready, and they all looked smashing and shiny.
I want to thank Kathy and Wayne for all their volunteer efforts. Being on the committee, marking flags, and especially directing traffic from 6:30 am until after 9:00 am on the day of the show.
Thanks to Nate for also marking flags and setting up the tent with Bruce. You were a huge help to me.
Thanks to Bruce for bringing the banners and the donuts and setting up and tearing down the tent.
Thanks to everyone who attended, whether participant or walk-in. You made the event a success.
